Just picked up my Socceroos jersey today. Along with a T-shirt for my (Italian) father-in-law which says "It's not Soccer, mate!" on the front, and "It's football!" on the back.

Will anyone else be getting up at Sparrow fart to watch these matches?

I agree in a way. I hate all the diving and rolling around like your leg has been blown off. But you've gotta get behind the Aussie boys in their first expedition to the World Cup in over 30 years!

I'm still lamenting not buying your Topfield box Courty... for this very reason. I've been pricing new ones, they are no longer a current model but Bing Lee have a couple left that they have discounted, but i'm getting the guilts from the missus!

I'm waiting for the new HD one with twin tuners to come down in price a bit, then I'll pull the trigger. For some reason they didn't make HD PVR's until recently.

Germans looked good, I don't understand why the papers would be critical of a 4-2 win. The goals they gave up had a strong suspicion of offside.
Ecuador look a solid but unspectacular team.

Maybe before Australia's first match they should all watch Kokoda, should fire the boys up.

There's still not that much hd content around these days.

Go the topfield models - they have lots of taps (mini programs) that people write to add functionality to the units. Tons of stuff, and much of it free. Apparently the operating system for the toppys is open source.

I'm going to try to. I'm a bit knackered from staying up to watch the Federer/Nadal match last night.
