Sounds like we need some cheap fare lovin' from jetstar for February to bring some punters in. Or some attendance from Victorians. Note to lurkers from Melbourne - don't be shy, pop along for a game or two. All the axe murderers are staying in Queensland this year.

At this stage we have just 24 for the 2017 Vic Champs, to be held in just 7 weeks!!! Its an exciting 5th year, with 5 new courses on the Vic Champs rota.

Thursday is a warmup at the Sunshine Golf Club - not far from the airport, Sunshine is around 10 years old, and was designed by Craig Parry and PCD. Wide and relatively forgiving, it will be a great warmup venue for those travelling from afar.
Friday is the signature event - the UNCIVIL WAR #5 at the Commonwealth Golf Club, a tier 1 sandbelt course that hosted the Australian Womens Open in 2010 and 2011. Coming off a 5 year rebuild, the course should be in magic condition like all sandbelt tracks. The North play the South in matchplay - can the north settle the score?
Saturday is Waterford Valley - Round 1 of the Vic Champs, with wide open fairways and massive greens, and water on most of the back 9 holes. Could we see a GK style big score here? I think so...
Sunday is the Greg Norman designed Settlers Run - over fun, undulating land, it follows up on last years foray to the fun and interesting Sanctuary Lakes. If the wind gets up it will be tough, but again some burglar will find 40 points...
Monday is the wind down, and we head to Northern - five years after playing Southern, its a return to tree lined fairways and sandbelt style bunkers.

All accommodation is at the brilliant Parkview Hotel, with sensational breakfasts, the plunge pool and spa, the function room and all the fun we can have. Get on board!

Lefty, sorry it's taken a while, but just transferred a hundred. Will sort the rest out in the next week or 2.

Just bought myself some new golf shoes, because my current pair are black and that just wouldn't cut it at Vic Champs.

    Cool

    Finally!

After years of either saying yes then having to drop out or not being able to from the start, I have the weekend confirmed as free!

So please put me down for Saturday and Sunday golf with no carts required.
Saturday accommodation. Happy to crash in a room with others to keep cost down for everyone but whatever's available.

The only changes would be if I have Monday free then I'd add accommodation and then possibly golf but Monday is unlikely.

Look forward to meeting everyone and having a good walk.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'll have some money put across today to show it's no bluff!

Sorry guys but I'm now a non starter for this event due to some family commitments that have come up.

Santa Claus better make it up to me.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Best golf trip ever. Any of the guys who have attended previously can vouch for that.

Uncivil War (Friday Sandbelt round) is one of the greatest 18 hole events on the national golfing calendar. To steal a catchphrase "Mate vs. mate. State vs. state!"

It's a pretty awesome week, that's for sure. If you're on the fence about it, don't be. Premium courses, less than premium golf, quality sledging, quality beer, many laughs. Put your bloody name down!

Can you add a cart for me for both Saturday and Sunday please Lefty?

I don't reckon 5 days walking while 5 months pregnant would be a good idea!
