Bad Times at the El Royale - Thought i had a mild idea what to expect given the trailers but i was a long way out. Tho extremely long it grabbed me from the first minute on. Really enjoyed it.

Boogie Nights!
Absolutely cracker of Movie lol!
Once upon a time in Hollywood.
Could have done with a little more action, but other than that I really liked it.
It is normal Tarantino, you just need to go into the movie not expecting anything else. Not sure why so many people are negative about it. Each to their own.

Agree, saw it today with my kids and it took a while to warm up but really enjoyed it.
Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio were excellent.

Requiem for a Heavyweight. Last time I saw this was as a 12 year old, when they still had decent movies on TV (Saturday afternoon matinee I think it would have been).
Not a typical 'Hollywood' movie. Not surprising, given it was written by Rod Serling, the creator of the original Twilight Zone series.
It has a POV opening scene which would have been quite remarkable at the time of the film's release, with the audience getting a first person view of Mohamed Ali (then known as Cassius Clay), pummeling protagonist 'Mountain' (Athony Quinn), to the canvas. It's pretty dramatic from there for poor old Mountain; right up to the poignant ending.
Boxing legend, Jack Dempsey makes a brief cameo about half way through.
Being a sci-fi fan, I went to the cinemas the other day to see Ad Astra. What a steaming pile of horseshit! I think it was an attempt at a human story that just happened to based in an interplanetary setting, but the continuity problems and holes in the science turned it into a complete farce. On top of that, the closing credits rolled without answering some major plot-based questions! If you‘be been considering seeing it... don’t.
We had a choice tonight of Ad Astra or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. We're 15 minutes through Hollywood, and it's boring as batshit so far. Hope it improves. Starting to wish we choose Ad Astra, even after your review courty.

Didn't mind Once Upon a Time. Sure it meanders but it meanders in a Tarantino sort of way and the ending is a decent payoff. He really takes you back to the times.
John Wick 3 was extremely enjoyable. It's a successful and enjoyable type of theme they have going.
Brightburn was interesting. They could have made it a whole lot better but it was ok.

JoJo Rabbit.
Do yourself a favour.
Nah!!!
Birds of Prey is where it's at.
I just saw Knives Out. As far as Whodunnit's go, probably the best I have seen. To say why or anything else would be a spoiler, oops maybe that was a spoiler too.
I'm not a big movie person but do take recommendations, would be easier for us occasionals if you said, Netflix, Stan, some other service or at the cinema
I saw it at the Casino ( you asked !)

Haha.My Casino has a free Cinema when there is no live shows on. I think the movies we get to see are at the tail end of the cinema release, so maybe 2 months after box office i guess. Dont know where that fits into the streaming releases as I know nothing about those.
