    Kubo and the Two Strings.

I think there needs a movie about how this one was made. Looks like CGI but seemingly, not entirely so.

If you liked the Book of Life you'll like this one.

Finally saw suicide squad (well, nearly finished setting it). I think, taking into account the cast, the budget, the company producing it etc. It may be dollar for dollar the worst movie ever made! How bad must the new independence Day movie be if Will Smith passed on it to do this one!

Yep - did a good job of not taking itself seriously, which really worked for it. Just taking a different tack.

I have had my usual Xmas binge of movie watching. Perhaps a few others spent a large part of their Xmas in front of the Foxtel box and saw the same fillums.

    In no particular order:

Deadpool - I'm not a fan of Marvel Superhero movies, but this one is obviously very different, and I really liked it. I feel a need to see it again, because I'm sure I missed a lot of the jokes.

Castaway - Amazingly, this is first time I've watched the whole thing. Every other time I've got bored and switched over to something else. The effort wasn't really worth it.

The Man From UNCLE - One for those who say "they never make spy movies like that any more" after watching early James Bond. The reason why is because the world has moved on. I'm not sure why they bothered.

Mr and Mrs Smith - Perhaps the movie with the highest bullet count (mostly inaccurate from the bad guys) I've ever seen. Difficult to believe rubbish that Mythbusters would have a field day with. Only worth watching for the irony of seeing Brad and Angelina happy together.

Naturally I also followed the Christmas tradition of watching a few Carry On fillums. I'll watch them again next year.

Watched 31 the other day, pretty disappointing.

Don't Breathe was ok but not exceptonal.

Solace was reasonable, sligtly off the beaten tracks.

Caught Soldier on FTA the other night, enjoyed watching a bit of an oldie.

Enemy of the State on FTA a week ago, excellent flick i hadn't seen in forever.

Mr. Brooks looks good for Sat night.

I watched Arrival the other day. Uber-advanced aliens arrive on Earth but WE have to work out how to communicate with them..

They made an Australian Aboriginal analogy in the movie (which is too corny to repeat), but following that theme... This movie is like a movie about Captain Cook arriving at Botany Bay and meeting the locals for the first time who then spend the rest of the movie trying to work out what he's on about whilst the captain keeps talking to them as if they're eventually going to work it out anyway.. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

    Jamie Summers in The Brat..

Ten months into their marriage, a couple deal independently with their sexual frustrations, aided by willing friends.

I laughed, I cried, I smoked cigarettes, even had a little rest...

    beautiful, beautiful movie.

Thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Brooks and Gone straight after it was reasonably watchable. Mr. Brooks had plenty of suspense and tension.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Monday night. You don't hear this much, but this one was better than the original.
Much funnier and some really amazing scenes, really good in 3D.

It's a definite for those that love a good sci fi flic.

I assume you needed the box of tissues for different reasons to Largerlover.

    Arrival - liked.
Office Party - was way funnier than expected, even if you knew what was going to happen next.
