Jason Bourne. Park the brain and enjoy it. Pretty much the same as the others, but enjoyable if you can ignore the silly stuff.

I wish you could get the Bourne Conspiracy made for TV mini-series with Richard Chamberlain as Jason Bourne, somewhere. May be rose coloured glasses but from memory I thought it was better/more authentic than the movies.

Finally managed to see Batman vs Superman today. Crap movie with some good bits in it. If Batman is about to bash your brains out, just say "Martha", and he'll stop.

Yesterday I saw Constantine. A movie that's a few years old now. Never read the comic. Interesting premise but an average movie made worse with the wooden acting of Keanu Reeves. And it has a really rubbish ending.

Saw a movie called 400 days a few days ago. Made on a shoestring (quite obviously), with no redeeming qualities. Time I'll never get back.

Constantine is definitely an ordinary movie but I've seen a hell of a lot worse (pardon the pun).

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Watched Cell, pretty average considering the acting talent on display.
Everest was ok but i think i preferred the doco.
Bridge of Spies was quite good, Hanks is such a good actor.
Midnight Express was pretty good, something well different. Some will hate it
Caught The Last Sumurai again a while back, love that movie for some reason. Some of Cruise' best work i think.

I'd say The Last Samuri was his best work.

Bastille Day. No great expectations but the movie was quite enjoyable and moved along at a nice clip. It's surely opened up some serious action roles for Elba in the future.

Bit of an old one but watched History of Violence in the weekend with the missus. I didn't get bored switch it off halfway through so that's a good sign for me.

The kids are away, so its been a bit of a movie frenzy

Ghostbusters. Shit. Lasted 30 minutes before deciding it sucked. 0 stars
Free State of Jones. Another American Civil war and race relations movie. Didn't quite work for me, but I think it was close to being a good movie. The series Roots covered some of the same ground, but better. 2.5 out of 5.
Magnificent 7. Wild West Shoot 'em Up. You have seen this movie before... 2.5 out of 5

Before they left, we watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople. I like quirky low budget Aussie/Kiwi comedies, and this worked for me. 3.5 stars - and the kids loved it.

You may also like 'Margin Call'. Similar topic and also has a big name cast, Kevin Spacey, Demi Moore, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons and a few others. A bit more of a slow burn compared to the Big Short but still enjoyable.
