Some spare time of late so caught a few flicks.Watched the remake of The Thing for the second time. Quite enjoyed it, loved the original too.
The Last Witch Hunter was just ok. Got roped into watching Pixels, it was actually not toooo bad. Seventh Son was familiar fare and just ok.

The opening scene (NFL runner getting past the opposition players) was brilliant and it kept up the 'velvet sledgehammer' momentum until the end.

One of my all time favourites.

    The Big Short.
It was good, more entertaining than I expected. The cameos were cool, especially the one from Margo Robbie.
Also watched Straight Outta Compton again.
One of my favoutites from last year.

Yeah, as a star wars fan from way back I'm sad to say +1 to all of the above.. cookie cutter revisionist "must make the fans happy" rehash of all the 'best' bits of all the previous movies. So disappoint....

Finally watched The Thin Red Line from start to finish. Great movie. Particularly enjoyed the dialogue. Nick Nolte's part was an interesting one and he played it superbly. The scenery was bordeline amaze at times and the insight into the psyche of both camps at various stages of the movie was telling.

    Brilliant movie.

Watched 'Creed' on Friday night. Not bad. Nothing earth shattering but certainly enjoyable.

Deadpool. I enjoyed it, but like a lot of action based movies, once you have seen the trailers, you have seen half the movie.

I'd been looking forward to it for a while now, yet haven't gotten around to it and probably won't.

Watched Cap America the winter soldier again today. I think it's my fav of the marvel movies. Looking forward to civil war.

Watched X-Men Days of Future Past on the flight back from Melbourne. Started it as soon as seated but still missed the ending by arrive time. Was enjoying it so disapoint not to see the ending.

I didnt have any head phones on the way over and watched Hitman 47 with no sound. Heaps of action so fairly easy to watch in silence. Got to see all that one to end due to some delays in takeoff and landing.

'Being Evel' - a documentary about Evel Knievel. Very interesting back story to all the failed stunts. Basically the story of a small time hustler who literally 'fell' into becoming one of America's leading cultural icons in the 70's. Never knew his actual first name was Bob - and how he became 'Evel' is quite interesting and funny.
