    Default Birdie Competition

    Hi All

I have been given permission to organise a Birdie Comp for the VIC Champs. This competition is not without the help of Johnny Canuck who never misses an opportunity to fleece money from unsuspecting high and low handicappers alike.

    FAQ

    1. How does it work Shadesy?
Good question, every day you will nominate before the round you want to enter. To enter you must score a birdie on one of the holes that round. The hole you score the birdie (s) becomes your lucky number. After every round, there will be a lotto draw. If your number is drawn you win the cash! Simple.

    2. Can I enter more than once?

Sure can, have 4 birdies one round, that's 4 entries.

    3. Do my birdies carry over?
No, one competition per day. Enter as many or as little as you want. But let me know BEFORE your round of you want to enter.

    4. How much does it cost?
$5 per round. You want to enter all 5 days... $25. Enter as little or all the days.

    5. What if I enter and don't have a birdie?

This is known as doing a Simmsy and we thank you for your $5 donation.

    6. Is it gross or net birdie?

    Gross only you chopper!

    7. What if several people Birdie the same hole?
Money is split. Unless you want us to judge some sort of singing competition? So birdie the harder holes for more chance to take home a bigger prize.

    8.How much do I win?
Depends on the entries. But you will win 75% of the pool with the other 25% going to our selected charity. So you are helping regardless.

    9. Do you accept PayPal?

No, I want cash on the day. If you want to do all your days let me know in the thread and It will make it easier.Entering the playing days (let me know your days of play)?

There were a few non entries with a couple birding the first hole of the day as well... Gotta be in it to win it.

There was also a very low marker who did not manage a birdie...

The worlds unluckiest golfer Leftyhoges took the Cash with a birdie on 11.
Why exactly do I need to answer to you?

Thanks for organising this one Shadesy - top stuff. It certainly added a bit of interest, even if I only made a single birdie on three of the five days (and did a Shadesy on the other two). At least I gave myself a chance to win more times than expected.

Congrats to Noren for winning yesterday - you would be pretty bummed out if you made three consecutive birdies and didn't win the birdie comp!
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

I only made 4 but aside from that, same thing, not sure I had ever had one in the previous 3 years champs. Maybe the birdie comp brought out the best in a few of us.

It was a nice addition to the event, hope it continues next year.

Shadesy, great job mate on the event it really spiced things up and if only the sequence of 11,12...14 what the **** stayed the same would have been in some more cash was very focused on getting a few over the last two days but Vicki has been a great consolation prize and looking forward to having another crack next year.
If it aint for sale the right price has just not been offered

Yep, thanks so very much Shadesy, gave us all an extra thing to aim for and have fun with (and ensured I pulled my head in on Thursday when I knew what was coming!), and raised a lot of $$$ into the tin. Thanks for your efforts, both in organising and finding a barrel girl at such short notice.

I had 2 on Thursday, 3 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, Goose Egg on Sunday (in what was easily my best ball striking round, ridiculous!) and 3 on Monday. Happy enough with 10 birds in 90 holes, just a shame about the 30ish soft bogies that went along with them.

Was very happy with the $80 on Thursday and the $40 on Friday too. Cheers bud.
