It's just my opinion Daves, no need to make it personal. I thought forums were about giving our opinions but is it only relevant if everyone else agress with it? There's been plenty of stuff on ozgolf that people have writtien that I don't agree with but I've never made it personal. I might have disagreed with them but I've ever dismissed someones opinion as baseless or pointless. It's their opinion and they are entitled to it. Who am I to say it's wrong be critical of that person for their opinion, no matter how much I disagree with it.

    All in the same boat.

Why don't they ask the guy who is in his first year of the tour, struggling to make ends meet, hoping to earning enough points to make the tour the following year. Doubt he would say he didn't do any good because he is "tired'.

    All about perspective I suppose.

I thought Jordan Speith was just giving his opinion, no need to make it personal with Jordan.

The first year pro wouldn't be tired, as he doesn't have Speith's media commitments to fulfil, nor the sponsor commitments, nor the tournament publicity commitments, nor the nightly one hour phone hookups with his manager about prospective deals, nor fans asking for an autograph/selfie/'listen to my story' at restaurants and whilst commuting.

So why doesn't Jordan stop doing that so he isn't as tired? No one is holding a gun to his head (or any of the other top players heads for that matter).

    Interesting question.

Would he end up like Ryan Moore (I think it was Ryan Moore) that shunned sponsorship to be a Bobby Jones?

Or like Tiger shunning media and public venues to spend his 'away nights' ensconced in hotel rooms?

I don't believe he (or any other pro) should state/complain/comment about being tired. They have no excuse, regardless of what their schedule is. It's their choice, it's their life. They make choices based on what commitments they want to fill or not. If they are too tired, don't complain, just change it. You guys obviously care that he's tired. I don't.

I just like that he is being honest.

Much better than the robotic cliches that Tiger delivered week in, week out.

Just don't think the 22yo, really rich, no.1 player in the world should make excuses like that but I'm starting to think I shouldn't have said anything in the first place. Seems to hve gotten a lot peoples backs up.

Spieth must be too tired to even post in this thread. Disappointing.

To be fair, it wasn't a defence of Spieth but pointing out how ridiculous Jazz was being.

He had to take a break because he was at a heightened risk of doing something interesting.
