Default Copperclub The Dunes Port Hughes

There's a couple of games coming up at The Dunes Port Hughes in the next few months that may be of interest to others.

    http://http://copperclub.com.au/

I've never played the course an am looking to add it to my list. Seriously looking at playing in the Autumn Classic. The only draw back is that it's during the week days so days off work are required to make it happen. Oh, must add I'll most likely have to take the Hatchery in tow ( not to golf thou).
The Thursday & Friday rounds are of most interest but would consider the Wednesday as well.

The course is good - probably on par with Lady Bay but hard to judge 9 holes against an 18 layout.

as you probably know staying in Ardrossan you get some serious wind - so much so that they have gone through a number of flag-poles; when I played it the wind was at least 2 clubs worth. I hit a 300 metre drive on 9 with the tailwind .

Sadly I will be in Queensland that week so im out.

Yeah very good, I remember the greens being fast & true. Also the stobie pole right in front of the first tee. Missed it by an inch.

You will enjoy the course for sure.

March is no good for me. Heading overseas on the 13th, so will have way too much work to get through.
April is a light pencil as it is a Thursday and will need to look into what I have on.

I see the council has the lease for 20 odd years.

It's been mentioned a few times as a destination for a monthly OzGolf round, and it's a course I'd like to play - just a bit of a treck from Adelaide so it hasn't happened yet. I've only heard good things.

Not sure Yorkes is suited to your active lifestyle.

Fleurieu Penn would be a better option, where you stayed last year

5 mins drive to Lady Bay

Yankalilla or Normanville, they have tons of property surrounding the course as well (as you saw) Mike Hill's development never really took off

First and only time I played it, I will remember two things, upside down bowl greens and the quickest greens I have ever played in my life - like putting on glass.

The course is apparently back on the market.
