Default double bogey (or worse) free runs

36 holes on the current run,...who is doing better? I went 80 something earlier in the year, aiming to break that but recall some of you blokes weren't as impressed as i was. Who is up for a pot, say $20 bucks in, longest streak as at end of Feb (or earlier if no one still alive...) takes the pot?

Me either, ill have doubles galore and give myself a better chance of making eagle than playing bogey golf.

We had this discussion at Tanunda didn't we.
I just keep finding ways to make doubles and put one or more on the card.
2013 I kept finding ways to keep one off the card. Longest streak was 5 rounds but had multiple streaks of 3 rounds without.
May have played 2 rounds in the last 2 years without one if I'm lucky.

This side game is out of my league.

Yep we did. I try and not make them. But I don't feel they ruin a round (unless you're shooting under par)

    I had 2 X doubles and had +4

It's always hard. A bad hole is a bad hole. And for me that'll be a double.

I also think it has a lot to do with the course you play. Some courses have a heap of doubles (and birdies or more) in them, others are par / bogey courses

Good idea Scifi, unfortunately I can't participate.

Most of my golf is played at a course where missed fairways are severely penalised, rarely do you get the option to chip out and make a bogey, most times it's a penaltydrop and a double.

If my Gamebook is to be believed (and there's no reason why it shouldn't ) I went 6 rounds without a double bogey last year from last round of VIC Champs in early Feb to first round of CoC in late July. There's also 2 other rounds in my Golflink in June and July that aren't in Gamebook so I can't verify, however the rounds were for 74 and 71 off the bat, so I'd be fairly confident there wouldn't have been any in there too.

So at best, 8 rounds, at worst 5.

    Confirmed as resident flusher!

My mind boggles at being double bogey free for 5 rounds. I'd be stoked to be double free for 5 holes.

+1 to this. Played a round at Bathurst yesterday and managed to string together 3 x doubles on 9,10 & 11.Perhaps I should start a new thread for most consecutive doubles.

I forgot about this thread. Otherwise I would've tried harder to hole my 40 foot double breaker on my 2nd hole today.

Oh well. 16 holes and counting now.

I'm happy to go through a round of golf only one double.

I broke par twice this month, and had doubles in both rounds.

6 doubles or worse in my last round. As a 6 marker, is that good?

I don't like doubles or worse, because usually it means that I've made not one but two mistakes on the hole, or one really big one.

The current streak is 6 without one.

Got to hole 15 double bogey free. Probably an all time record.

    Double bogey of course.

Other option was a 4jab to get a triple and keep the no double streak going.

I haven't managed to get past the 4th hole any week this year without having at least 1 double.

    18 holes for me.

Streak shouldn't go too much further with 36 holes at Kennedy Bay on tap.
