Default Wonder if anyone is Tasmania Local?

Hi, I am hoping to talk to someone who is currently living in Tasmania?

I am travelling to Tasmania (with my family) next month, and my aunt expect to see all the amazing scenic there. Except everything I can find on the web are bloody expensive.

I just assuming there is a better also cheaper way to site seeing at Tas but I simply do not know it. So I am hoping someone can give me a few good guide lines?

    Thanks in advance

To be more specific, is Tasmania locals are also joining advertised tours to visit those postcard photo locations? Or there is a better way?

From memory it's all pretty expensive during the peak period, ie Dec-Feb.

The locals in Hobart from memory are Braddles and Collis, and BenM is in Launceston. Might be a few others floating around.

I'm guessing your aunt wants to visit places like Freycinet/Wineglass Bay, and Cradle Mountain?

For these 2, drive yourself and get a map of the walks/trails from the info centre.

There are a bunch of boats leaving for Hobart from Sydney the day after Xmas Day.

I'm in Launceston Andy, will help if I can. As they said it's peak season in summer so some prices do go up a bit.

    Thanks BenM.

First thing first I would like to see if there are guys who can do charter boat for 4 people without breaking the bank.

I'd like to visit islands like Tasman island etc and get to see those more exclusive scenic... Preferable around sunset kind of time. So I can take good picture of those places. So far the best I have found is $400 per head and I don't even get to pick time I want and/or route I would have hope for.

We will stay 4 days in Tasmania, 2 in Hobart and 2 Launceston.

I have hired a car and organised motels, wineglass bay and cradle mountain is not too much a worry, it just drive and walk (a lot). But more concern how to get access to those exclusive scenic without sinking the bank

Narawntapu National Park is a pretty special accessible place with heaps of critters. Easy drive north of Lawnceston.

Just buy Tasmania Andy, you must be worth trillions now that Christine stopped you spending so much money on golf

It used to be called Asbestos Range National Park, not sure why they changed the name.
