Default OZgolf Punters Club - March 2016

    OZgolf Punters Club Rules:

    1. Currently, a once off payment of $30 (as of Nov 30, 2015) currently secures you a share in the club. This changes each round depending on the money in the kitty, and the number of punters.

    2. A roster will be drawn up and posted so everyone knows in what order they will be betting.

    3. We will be using a Tom Waterhouse sporting bet account and everyone will have access to the login to see bets made, balance etc.

    4. If you double the money that you have bet, then you can punt again the next week. i.e for a $30 outlay, minimum of $60 collect required to bet again.

    5. If you win double the money, and go again, then bet that doubled amount next time. You will now need to win double the new amount to go again a third time. If you win twice, then it will reset to the original amount again for your third bet. For example, you bet $30 in the first round and win $60 or more. You will now bet $60 needing $120 to bet once again. If successful, the third betting round for you will be a $30 bet.

    6. Winnings to be distributed only after everyone has punted. Alternatively, you can leave your money in for the next stage..

    7. It is anticipated that bets will be a minimum of $30 and payouts for each bet should be at least $60. This will not however be strictly enforced, as to entice some of our exotic multi-bet punters in the ranks. (e.g having a $10 place bet on a horse @ 2.80, to win $28 is not encouraged.)

    Round start: November 29 2015
Starting balance for this round is : $585
Betting amount: $30. ($60 needed to go again)

Not really. But a golf themed burlesque act would at least be original...

Someone else just told me an hour ago that the Fringe Festival is on. What is on for that?

I'm down there to install and test a small communications system at a defence company in Mawson Lakes. My dancing days are behind me now.

If I stop visiting craft beer bars, I'll have a look at the Fringe Festival....or combine them.

I'm not going to muck around, so I'll place my bet now.

    Tennis multi with:
Bencic to beat Kasatkina in straights sets @ $1.73
    Paul-Henri Mathieu to beat Ghem @ $1.33
    $30 @ $2.30 for $69.03

Bencic is running hot at the moment, having only lost to Sharamypova in her last 12 matches, including a win over Kerber last week.
Mathieu is no 1 seed in qualifying for the Rio tournament and has a 3 zip record over his opponent. I've never heard of the other guy, and there is nothing impressive about his results, so he is sure to cause an upset here.

We'll have a result by the morning.

I probably would have waited and made a bet while sober.

That link is not working for some reason. Balance is currently $563. We started this round with $585, so if andyP can win big we have a chance of getting positive this round.

Bet made with a 3 way tennis multi.

Kevin Anderson over Austin Krajicek @ 1.25
    Thiem over Andujar @ 1.33
    Fognini over Bedene @ 1.30

    $60 @ $2.16 for a $129.68 payout.

Two of them got up for a win, while Anderson the big softcock retired from his match, which means that part of the multi didn't apply. Doh! So while I turned this week's $60 into $103.74, it is not enough for a double up and for me to go again.

All up, $82.77 gain for my two bets. Next!
