I am fine when I use a mallet putter, but when I use a blade type putter the ball always ends up low, about 10-12 inches below the hole. It does not seem to matter how much I try to compensate for this the problem does not go away, I have even gone to the extent of twisting the grip a bit to make the alignment go a bit higher. Alas all seems to fail. Any suggestions t fix the problem?

No worries.
There could be other factors like if your mallet is face balanced and the blade has toe hang, u are closing the face quicker or just pulling them.

Then a face balanced putter is what you need. I too have a straight back and through stroke and I struggle with putters that have toe hang. Originally Posted by olddogmike

It only took me about 20 putters to figure this out.
