Default 2015 SA Champs - Friday 13th November @ Victor Harbor

As per thread title, Victor Harbor Golf Club has now been booked as the venue for the Friday game.

Have booked 4 tee-times from 11.30am. Green fees $30, carts extra if required, but to be honest it's not a strenuous walk!

    Attendees:

    HatchmanSS76 - 5.9
    DaveK - 7.8
    Wazamac - 9.6
    Hard_pan - 10.4
    Lagerlover - 12.6
    Thecollective - 12.8
    Jasonb - 17.2
    Coalesce - 17.7

    Jimandr - 6.7
    Nudgee - 8
    Ploppy - 8
    Ferrins - 9.1
    Benno_r - 11
    3puttpete - 15
    Peppas - 15.2
    Grunt - 24

    1. (vc) - 3puttpete (Reigning SA champ) vs Thecollective (VC)
    2. (c) - Benno_r (Reigning QLD champ) vs Lagerlover (Capt)

    3. Ferrins vs Hard_pan
    4. Grunt vs Coalesce

    5. Jimandr vs HatchmanSS76
    6. Nudgee vs DaveK

    7. Peppas vs Jasonb

    8. Ploppy vs Wazamac

And that makes 16 players to cover the four groups booked.

Donated Kitcheners for the winning team, seemed a fitting reward - think they agreed as they scoffed them pretty quickly!

Well done to the interstate team, 7-1 victory, Wazamac being the only local that put in a winning performance.

Haha, pictures never do justice to just how big a drop off it is from that tee block.

Bailed out with a safe 4 iron into the middle of the fairway. Failed and ended up on the edge of the 7th tee.

It's much bigger when you sky your drive

After a bit of pressing I have info there were 2 today. One confessed and told the story the other one was nominated for one. Will seek further clarification.

Hit a sweet drive on the dogleg 8th and was in a prime spot to pull out something good with the approach. Then after a bit of JD visualation of a nice high flying soft landing 6 iron pulled the trigger on a Stenson hosel rocket special. It was pin high though but 60m off target and into Ed Stafford territory. But after a fine Seve explosion shot of bark, reeds and wood duck guamo managed to get a bogie.

Some slightly delayed words about the Kitchener Cup.
I enjoyed V Harbour despite it being a bit tight in places and I would be happy to return. But the venue may not matter much. As an icebreaker the event was perfect. Thanks to Waza for the best trophy in the world of golf and now that Nadg has created the tradition that the winners get the spoils it is perfect the way it is. Particularly if SA field such a weak team each year.
And thanks to Hatch for hitting such a horrible drive on 18 that he conceded before I hit mine.

Agreed Jim, going by the feedback I received this event proved to be quite popular, and will hopefully now be a definite part of the SA Champs, as you mention it was a great lead-in to the weekends SA Champs proper. From what I saw, it was played in a competitive but very friendly/jovial approach by all taking part, with more emphasis being placed on having an enjoyable time, (though I think there is a good possibility the interstate guys probably had more of a fun time than the locals - though I have heard a rumour of a mild mutiny taking place and a new captain being sought for team SA - not a 'blow-in'!?)

And THAT trophy is certainly one worth winning, excellent work Waza, you've created a legend

As for HMSS76's concede after a DRIVE - kept that quiet!
