In other news, I offers Simmsy a lift to the airport but forgot that I didn't have my car with me, and then I offered DCanto a lift to the airport and found out my car has a flat battery. I'm in stunning form on and off the golf course. Sorry chaps.

Oh, and congrats to Lucas. Great to see you get up after you flushed it for two days in the lead-up. Well deserved!

So room 802 has been officially dubbed the Room of Champions.

Winning Confederate captain and Vic Champs winner. Maybe we should look into what performance enhancing substances they're taking. Other than Carlton Mid.

Smashing trip lads. Thanks again for organising Lefty (and crew). Missing chateau de'Gold already, feels odd not having 3 other blokes to tuck me in tonight. Good luck to those Iron men who are playing tomorrow and big congratulations to a very worthy winner today.

Great work Lucas, well deserved. I am not long home so I'll post something more substantial tomorrow. Thanks again Lefty for all the hard work you put into organising the event. Thanks also Larry for the offer of a lift. I hope the RACV got you going again.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Whilst I only managed to play one of the champs days (yesterday at Heritage) and I was given a solid lesson by the damn course. I'd like to thank Lefty and the other organisers for a ripping day. I have no doubt that the others were equally as enjoyable.

I have been going on a golf trip organised by my old man for 28 years, and the amount of co-coordinating, coercing, phone calls, emails, etc required to get that done (it's only 3 days) is ridiculous.

So the effort that Lefty and the others that assist, need to go to to get this sorted year on year, can't be overestimated.

Thanks again and I'll do my best to get to more than 1 day next champs.

Thanks for the weekend, and the organising effort involved is much, much, much, much appreciated.

Good stuff - Calcutta, gear auction and to catch up with 'those internet friends'.

Not so good - An hour drive each way for the two weekend courses and the Brosnan/Retco clubs in the auction.

Thanks to everyone that organises and helps, particularly Andigold and Lefty. This is my favourite weekend of the year and i really look forward to it. Thanks to all who come and participate and make it as big and as fun as it is. And thanks to my playing partners who put up with my missed naga by a point effort over the weekend. Fwiw I finally played ok for 35 points today. Sad to be going home and already looking forward to next year.

Yeah sorry for donating. A few people have mentioned it. As you noticed I just put all my spare clubs in a pile and taped them together when I moved.

If I donate again I'll make sure its something expensive. Sorry.

Thanks lefty and the others that help organize the weekend. A great time was had as always though my golf is shit as always. Great to see everyone as always, and to play some golf with those I'd never played with before.

Good luck to whoever takes on the reins next year if it isn't lefty - you will have big shoes to fill and probably less stupid questions to answer.
