I have been trying to use my feet a bit more in my reading of greens since this thread started. It's tricky, but I can see some positives.

Have you got a slope level?? I use it to 'remind me what 1,2,3* is beforehand.

No I don't. I reckon it must be pretty difficult to train yourself to recognise slope through your feet.

@Highballin, what would aim point tell you about a pin position on the middle of the green on your 16th.
Saw a pitch hit from 80m land on the front centre of the green ended up finishing a foot from running into the water pin high, simply wow.

I know what you are saying Hatch APE cant help you with 80m approaches unless you want to walk to the green. I did exactly the same thing the week before left me just outside the hazard line. From memory APE told me I had a 3 slope left to right from there. Just left it short by a foot easy two putt.

Anyone in Sydney interested in doing a group class.
My coach is running a session 11th feb.
I'm not a bad putter, but I'd still like to give this a crack as the greens I now play on have far more slope and breaks than my last club....

Aim point has been very beneficial in fixing my putting woes, I strongly recommend it - although I have never done a course the small amounts of instruction from my golfing books has been all I need to develop the baseline levels.

The (what I call) 'spartial awareness' that is required (judgement of slope based on position of green) comes over time with practice - I particularly like how Lydia Ko rocks between her feet (outside of the putting line) to get a feel of the ground and now use a similar technique.

I still will never stick my fingers in the air though...that is a tad ghey
