7 today I had a 15footer downhiller. Then I had a 20ft uphill.
2 I had a 15 footer across the green left me 2ft for par. Outside chance for NTP.
13 was pretty fast to. I had a 15 footer from the back. Just got it rollin left me pin high 1ft.
16 was really quick I had an uphill put but one of the guys had a downhiller was scary fast.
7 was quickest though

Aimpoint is a golf cult. Just like stack and tilt before it.
Not really. Aimpoint is science based and the fact that the eyes are more prone to being tricked than what the feet are.
You still need to practice it to be proficient but it is a more technically advantageous system than just looking with your eyes.

WTF is 6 finger read? You hold up two hands? Never ever came across that in my Aimpoint express class.

You didn't have a big enough slope

So is this the thing that Adam Scott does when he holds up his fingers?

Yes. Each finger is an order of break. Doesn't help much with dodgy strokes though.

Yes you have to learn to associate a % of side tilt or slope that you feel when you stand on the slope or next to it. So 1 finger = 1% of slope.
It is most common to be between 0 & 4 %

What about people that have thicker fingers then others? And if this is Scotty's method he must have broken fingers!

In Scotty's case, it must have been Stevie's fingers because he has done nothing since he has been gone!
Maybe now he is coming back things will improve.
Fingers crossed!!!

How so? I played with a scratch marker who used the system to sink a lot of tricky putts. I wasn't able to pick the read, and he generally found it within 30 seconds of doing his thing.
Can't be any worse than my current system of guesspoint.

Maybe he's just better than you.
So you get the gradient with your feet.
How does your feet then tell you how much break on a 10' speed green or an 11' speed green. Also how much will it break in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Does your feet tell you how much the shadow of the tree will effect the last 1/3 of your putt.
It's such a simplistic piece of brain washing to help those that have no trust in their own ability.

He is much better than me, but I still don't see how learning to feel gradient with your feet is worse than guessing the gradient with your eyes. What method should we use to factor all of the things in you mention?
I have spent the same amount of money on "old school" putting lessons as an Aimpoint express class would cost. I still struggle to determine gradient and break. I am not a crap putter (I average 30 putts a round), but rarely do I make long breaking putts because I can't guess the gradient with my eyes.
I thinking calling Aimpoint Express "brainwashing" and a "piece of wank" is tenuous at best.
Have you done the course?

Obviously if you have no understanding of how it works you will never believe or trust that it does work.
No point explaining something you've already written off.

No but I feel comfortable with my ability to read greens.
To put it into getting gradient with your feet dismisses so many other factors that influence how a putt will break.

Do you get a reading of the break every 2' of your putt?
If not then how can the read from 5' be the same as the read from 15'?

How do you know it dismises these things without doing the course or at least speak to a person who has done the course...
