    Default Cobram or Corowa

Anyone played either of these courses lately. We are going for our annual weekend to Yarrawonga but a couple of us lucky retirees are going the day before and want to play a different course nearby. Have played Tocumwal, and Black Bull, but looking for something different. Any thoughts?

I played Corowa back in late January and it was in good nick at the time. The 3 nines are a good mixture with the new nine (1-9) being a lot more open with 10-18 and 19-27 being tighter off the tee. I always enjoy playing there when I am in the area and is well worth the drive. Haven't made it out to Cobram before but I am sure one of the others here can chime in

I'd play Black bull again, they should be close to having all 18 holes completed by now. I played all three of them last year and prefer the Old course at Cobram over Corowa but if you are driving from Sydney play Corowa as its on the way - It's such a great golf destination, I'm jealous.

Toke hands down over Cobram, Cobram narowly over Corowa. Toke is the pick of the courses up there. Worth it for the greens alone which are similar speed to Yarrawonga. Whatever you do it will be fun. Shep is nice also.

if you're coming from south, you can't go past Shepparton on the way through, it's my track but in pristine nick most of the time

Haven't played any for 10 years but my order of best to least would be:
    Yarrawonga
    Corowa
    Tocumwal
    Shepparton
    Cobram

I do have a personal preference for the River Flat/side courses. The green strips carving their way through the massive River Reds and Black Box Gums are golf art.

Only about 30 times. Had reciprocal rights when I was at Berri for many years. We used to go up several times a years and play Wentworth in the morning and Coomealla in the afternoon then drive home. I was also a full member for 4 years as it was cheaper to join than pay greens fees for the game up and back when we went to Cobram for a week of golf at all the above courses in the area.

Riverside Mildura is another I love for the same reason. Mildura Country Club is a bore feast in comparison.

Thanks everyone. Agree Toke is good but want to play somewhere we haven't played before so picked Cobram. $80 for two in a cart. Don't normally walk but 5 days of golf in a row we took the deal.

    Default cobram!!

Played Cobram and must say a little disappointed as greens were slow and some missing patches of grass . Maybe a result of bird damage. Yarrawonga in great nick and by Queens B'day all 18 at Black Bull will be open, so next year back to there for a warm up.

Looking to fish the Murray immediately below Lake Mulwala at some stage. Will play the 36 hole course at Mulwala as by all accounts it's the pick of the litter.

Cobram just held the Webex tour and Vic Seniors. Would be in amazing nick.

I think the two Cobram courses (or at least 27 holes of them) are better than Corowa's 27 holes as well, but they are also 'different'

Black Bull is on Lake Mulwala - play it as well.

Lots of really good tracks down that way, all are just a bit different in personality.

Riding the Bull is a must if you play Black Bull.
