Default The Players Championship @ Sawgrass

Furyk leads the opening round so far with a -7 (Go Srixon)

    Allenby started with a 5 under round 67. Pamps had a 2 over 74

Tiger is his usual erratic self off the tee, spraying the driver everywhere

    A. Scott still cant putt, but he did manage to chip in from a bunker for a bird and then eagled the 16th 2 holes relay.

I always love this tournament, one of the best courses to watch good players hit the ball. Lets hope pamps can come back to make the cut, and hope allenby puts up a fight.

    Jarro,

It serves a purpose but I'm not sure it's a truley great hole. The real archie buffs probably don't like it but I think is a ripper if not over done.

There are certainly better holes out there, google Tiger's thoughts on it, you'll be surprised.

i actually heard that the hole was never actually meant to be like that at all. They were taking sand from the area and realised that after they'd taken so much, they'd created a little island green and decided to keep it.

I don't care what anyone thinks of the hole, just look at the stats .... it really gets in the players minds .... and i like that

but do you think a hole like that should potentially decide a tournament?

    hell yeah.

they all have to play it don't they.

I'd actually like to see it used as the 18th hole. Imagine standing on the tee with a 1 stroke lead ... wind blowing in your face, and you and your caddy can't decide which club is the best to use ....

    .. AWESOME

Pro's these days are too soft, if it was the last im sure there would be outrage of some sort.

nice second round 83 from DL111 goes from a share of the lead after the first round to missing the cut !!

    his round consisted of :

    1 birdie
    9 pars
    6 bogeys
    1 double-bogey
    1 quadruple-bogey ( a 9 on a par 5 )

wouldn't have liked to be the person interviewing him after the round

He didn't do an interview post round. And the 9 occured on his 18th hole (he started on 10). He did a real 'pampling' you could say.
