Default Patrick Reed - miss understood or a dirty cheat???

There is a book coming out accusing Patrick Reed of cheating and stealing from teammates in college. Patrick has called the lawyers and Stephanie Wei has some unnamed sources.

One thing he was accused of telling the coach the wrong scores in practice rounds. They don't use scorecards just keep scores in their head......wtf???

I like the way Patrick Reed plays so interested to see how it plays out.

Misunderstood is one word, unless you're referring to some chick flick?

Who cares, they need theatre when Tiger is away otherwise they all lack personalities.

I reckon the game is 10x better to watch now that Tiger isn't a shoo-in for every tournament he tries in.

And I'd say there are heaps of great "personalities" in the game now. Patrick Reed being one of them. But also Rory, Sergio, Miguel-Angel Jimenez, Bubba Watson, Ricky Fowler and many others. Is there a more compelling personality than Ian Poulter during Ryder Cup? Damien Clarke is another "character". None of these guys could be accused of being boring automatons on the course with nothing to say and no personality.

    Is Patrick a dirty cheat?

Has he been detected breaking any rules, either on or off the golf course in the last five years? That is my definition of a dirty cheat, and as far as I am aware the answer is no.

He wasn't very popular, and still isn't in some circles, and now a journo is doing a hatchet job on him regarding stuff that occurred years ago when he was young and irresponsible.

I don't care about what happened in his relatively distant past. Storm in a teacup.

University age is hardly young and irresponsible.

Have you seen Girls Gone Wild? I'd say it's a 50/50 chance on that.

Note: I may or may not have watched Girls Gone Wild.

At the end of the day though, I find myself less and less interested in what goes on off the golf course. I know there is the argument that the fans pay there way,but I don't see them being paid as role models, but being paid as golfers, IMO.

Sounds like a disgruntled ex teammate who's now working at a driving range being pissed off Reedy has won on tour, blah,blah...
Sick of this crap coming out of the U.S.
Seeing as it like every time some no name becomes successful someone digs up dirt to try make some money off it...

    Or....

Some see passion, whereas others see an arrogant little twat. If he has cheated, why shouldn't he be scrutinised?

So if someone asks what you shot and you say 72 but you really shot 75? What do you call that? So if you use the foot wedge but there's no score card?

Because it was team qualifying. Shoot 75 and you don't play in the college match that week. He was only cheating against his team mates who knew what he was doing! Heck of a player probably but doesn't mean he is not a dick of a guy!

You mean guys like Russell Henley, Harris English, and Hudson Swafford, all of whom played on the same team at Georgia State before he was banished to Augusta? I think you should read the initial article before passing judgement. I've read nearly every article about it and the only conclusion I can come to is that he's an exceptionally talented, thieving, cheater.

Bushy, was just a blanket statement on the US as a whole.
Seems like there is always a story re a sportstars past and someone digging dirt trying to make a buck out of it (ala Tigers last debacle)
Until the claims are fully substantiated id say lame at best....

He may have cheated who knows. He hasn't been caught or spoken about in that light since being on tour so irrespective of his past, judging on his recent behavior I'd say he's not going too bad.

I think he is a bit of a knob, but is entertaining and a good change for the game. He was awesome to watch at the Ryder Cup, getting into it with the fans.

So multiple assistant coaches were told by his team mates he was a cheat but that news didn't make it to the head coach and they did nothing?

She's very careful in that piece to not mention the cheating, but whether or not the allegations/rumours of cheating are real.

How do you cheat during practice?

    FMD, I'm a cheat.

I always kick balls out from behind trees when I'm practicing. Generally would shoot better than 72 as well, just quietly

He said, she said, ner ner, whatever.

Just another sour grapes article from Stephanie Wei.

She's just jealous of her cousin Michelle getting all the attention.
