    Default Gumtree

I just setup an account on Gumtree to offload some home stuff and some golf gear.

Kudos to ozgolf, anyone who reckons the lowballers here are extreme should spend a week on Gumtree, FMD, they leave this place for dead.

Focussing just on those TM irons i'm selling, i've had offers ranging from $400 delivered to Brisbane, one $500 offer that became $400 two days later and some pelican asking me how tall my mate is, because he's 6'5" and wants to know they are long enough for him.

    I think i'd rather pay ebays 13%

you need to add Gumtree to your location

What's the bet that all these offers are from OzGolfers?

I had extended correspondence with a guy about a 131/2 foot one piece fishing rod and then he finally asks me if I would post it to Melbourne. FFS

Gumtree is just like a garage sale, expect some serious lowballs!

Its a little annoying having to pay eBay a cut and then also PayPal...

I once answered about a dozen questions about a Black Tie 8M3 3 wood shaft for a guy and then got hit with "Will you accept $50?"

It took a lot of willpower to not tell him to eat a dick.

Another guy lowballed my perfect condition Sunday bag from $15 to $10 and paid me in gold coins.

Overall, GT has been decent to me, but some guys are just painful.

The last guy that low balled me (offered me 1/3rd of what I was asking) on Gumtree didn't respond again when I replied with 'Are you 12 years old?'

So my new tactic with stupid low balls is to ask them stupid questions in return.....

the thing about selling on any public site is that you got to expect strange people who make strange offers. that's just the way it is

the only way to avoid all this nonsense is to get someone to do the selling for u, eg by consigning / selling it to a used golf club store. u get less $ out of it, but you also save yourself the hassle and blood-boiling
no one likes a grouchy golfer. lighten up & enjoy the game!
