    Default 2015 European Tour

The appearance money wallet has been opened pretty wide for the event in Abu Dhabi this week.

I can understand why Rory, Kaymer, Justin Rose and even Ernie are there, but I'm not sure why Rickie Fowler decided to start his year in the Middle East. It isn't as if he needs the money.

Still, all the other Euro A graders are there as well, so it is a very good field.

Kaymer in hot form to start, so it should be good.

PS: And Big Mig had a hole in one!

I'd be going there because you're up against the world number 1&2 and anytime you get to do that you're better for the challenge.

Plus I think the euro tour just 'does it better' and this is a much better 'kick off' than what the PGA has dished up so far.

Plus the PGA tour is still in Hawaii, so you were going to have to travel anyway, if you weren't already there.

Rickie Fowler is there, because Puma is based in Europe.

This might also mean there are more OWGR points up for grabs

Tiger used to pocket 2-3m simply by making the trip and playing.. Rory was getting similar recently I believe? I remember Tiger missed the cut 2013(I think) and still pocketed more than the winner.

When Tiger came to Melbourne I think his appearance fee was something like 1-1.5mil?

Kaymer had a 10 shot lead in last nights final round after 5 holes.

    He lost by 2!!!

I had a look after a few holes and switched over to something else. Turned on the replay this morning to watch the last 2 holes. Incredible really.

That's the most surprising finish to a tourney I've seen in ages. Pretty bizarre for MK to shoot rounds -8, -5, -7, then fall apart with a +3. He was infallible with the driver for three days, then those two missed fairways killed him. Was really just those two holes that killed him. Great come from behind win by the Frenchy, but would've been nice to see Rors jag it.

How about Gary Stal's swing? It obviously works, but pretty funky looking...

More weird-esque - he's got the full head dip thing going on on the downswing. There's not much good footage of him on YouTube, but if you IQ'd the Euro golf on the weekend you'd see it...

Haha even my wife commented on how pathetic his swing looked! She said he looked like a hacker about to put his hip out, and she's not even a golfer!

Did she compare it to your NSW Champs effort in 2013?

    For whom?

For the benefit of people who aren't avid followers of the Euro Tour, or who weren't channel surfing and stumbled on this like I did, the Qatar Open started tonight and will finish Saturday.

Touché mate. Finding live golf on the idiot box when I got home this evening was a pleasant surprise.
