Ball?😜
Another very solid round, for 37 points (20/17). Lots of pars (11), but a couple of doubles/wipes spoilt the total a little.
The Fast 12 LS continues to impress. Simply one of the easiest to hit straight Drivers I have used, up there with the Epon 101 AF. And it is loong, a good 10/15m longer on average for me than most other Drivers. 79% FIR today, and only one miss was with the Fast 12.
GIR of 50% today, but there were lots of very close misses, that resulted in putts from the fringe. I am very comfortable with the AP2s, Turning it into a combo set with the AP1, just enhances that comfort.
33 putts, partly reflects the high GIR count, though there was one 3 putt, after I hit a club long into the wind and ended up on the wrong tier. Hardly missed a thing inside 6 feet.
Ball was a TM TP, my preferred pill at the moment.
New Hcp low for the year of 8.7.
Nice shooting Dave.

Keep this up and we'll need to call the fire brigade.
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
Out of interest, how far would you say you are hitting the Fast 12 LS?
Are there elevated tees at Reddie?
According to Game Golf;
With the PL Blue Reg Shaft over 1 round (yesterday); 224m median, longest 255m
With NVS K Reg over 4 rounds; 218M Median, longest 264m
for some comparisons here are Game Golf Stats for a couple of other Drivers over multiple rounds (I have dozens);
Epon AF101 with PL Red; 210m Median, 248m longest
Mizuno JPX850 with Speeder 6.3; 212m Median, 231m Longest
Titliest 913 D3 9.5* with Aldila RIP 60; 215m Median, 241m Longest
Callaway 815 BB Alpha with Speeder 565 Reg; 217m Median, 246m Longest
Final round of the club champs today. I am in the top 25, but a bit too far back to have a chance I think.
Today's bag selection;

3 Wood: Cleveland Launcher

Thanks Lucas, unfortunately I struggled to get some momentum, and my golf was quite patchy. Finished with an 86/76, after leaking oil over the closing holes.
The Fast 12 LS Heavy, is actually a 2nd head I picked up off an Ozgolfer. It came with some lead tape on the sole, presumably to make up for a missing head weight. I added a 7 gram weight and put the NVS K shaft in it. It ended up swingweighting at just over D2, vs D0/C9.5 of the other head. You wouldn't think that would make a great difference, but it certainly was noticeable. The "Heavy" felt heavy and I was struggling to 1) hit it straight early on and 2) hit the ball somewhere near centre. I found I had to grip down the shaft to get some control back. It was reasonably long, but still wasn't as easy to use, or as long as the "A" head with the same shaft. I did some checking tonight. The Heavy head with tape, but no weight, weighed 185grams vs 180g for the "A" head without the rear weight. only 5 grams diff, but it was quite noticeable in practice.
Lack of control with the Heavy saw me in a few fairway bunkers, and I managed to catch just under the lip each time! Ditto my other fairway misses ended up being punch outs and a scramble to try to make the up and down, which I only managed once.
I thought I hit the i20s pretty well, they are certainly easy to hit. But I missed too many greens and struggled to make my usual quota of up and downs. I notably hit a few long, which was probably more reflective of a pure hit vs an estimated average hit when I selected the club and shot. Something to get used to. I also quite enjoyed carrying a 4i for a change, as much a I like my Hybrids. The i20 4i is a very friendly club to use.
I thought I putted well, mostly with out luck on our very average greens.
Ball used was the usual TM Tour Preferred.

Bloody Auto electrican has all my money.
Crazy stuff! No explanation for the gremlin.
Wednesday was one of my lesser rounds this month, really didn't get going for any length of time.
This Fast 12 is the bonded, non LS version. Some reviews suggest it is the bomber out of the 2. It is a slightly larger head, and quite a friendly head in terms of forgiveness. I struggled with it a little, I had grabbed it straight out of the box when it arrived, and hadn't even changed the grip to a midsize. I hit a few good ones with it though, and it showed enough to persevere, and do a bit of tinkering with balance etc.
I like the Cleveland Classic a lot, it is very easy to hit, like the Launcher. But with the closed face, I find it is a bit hook prone for me at times.
The S56s were a rush job. They arrived Tuesday arvo, were degripped, extended, and back balanced that evening, ready for play. I was very happy with them generally, despite my very average golfing. I hit a couple of rippers with the long irons, and generally they felt pretty good, when I put a decent swing on them. I might need to do a bit of fine tuning on the back balancing on the shorter irons, but I otherwise look forward to giving these another run.
