OK, quick update...

Courses confirmed:
Saturday from 12PM - St Andrews Beach
Sunday from 8AM - Cape Schanck
Monday from 8AM - LaTrobe GC

Courses still to be confirmed but we don't foresee any problems with:
Thursday from 3:30PM - Woodlands GC
Friday from 12:30PM - Regretfully not Royal Melbourne East, or Ivanhoe public ... TBA

Lock it in kiddies!

I may as well use this thread as an expression of interest. Please only post if you're above 75% chance of making it, as I need a good estimation of numbers over the next week or so.

It has been brought to my attention that I have not delivered the sad news. Unfortunately RM is out for these dates. The post I made about courses being 99% confirmed should have mentioned this and I apologise for leading you on.

The course we have 99% confirmed is another gem on the sandbelt and (without giving too much away), has played host to an international championship in the last 12 months. IMHO it is actually better than RM East.

All good as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure the replacement will be more than satisfactory. As long as I play better than I did for the dismal 25 points I scored at RM this year I'll be more than happy. But for some strange reason, the word SANDbelt has me quaking in my boots before I even hit the first tee!

Just had a look at the Jetstar specials for PER to MEL and it's only $119 + luggage each way. Happy days! I think I will have to take the punt and book the flights now at that price.

True, but we're also talking about RM East here. There's a reason why only 6 if it's holes are on the RM composite course.

Flights about to be sorted. Will get a later flight in on Thursday but will probably take the same flight out at 3:15 Mon.

I'm thinking of heading down for a couple of days in late Oct/early Nov to visit the friends, and will take the clubs down as well.

Sydney-Avalon jetstar flights are ridiculously cheap too right now - $35 plus baggage! I'm happy to pick up and drop off anybody wanting to go that way, but I'm guessing most will go through Tullamarine. Just throwing it out there if people want to go all the way with the tight-arse fares.

I will probably hire a car as I did in Qld last year with the same company (Alpha), and looks like their depot is about 10 mins from Tullamarine (on the way there), so probably look to drop car off around 1:45-2pm.

I'll go 5:15 if it's likely to be a bit tight.

Oh, and anyone who would like a share in it is more than welcome...

3.15 definitely doable, and really wouldn't involve that much rushing. The Cairns guys were out at 3.20 last year and it was a pretty cruisey trip back to airport etc. So long as you were out of LaTrobe car park by 1.30 at the absolute latest you'd be no problems.
