Be interesting to see what happens at WGC and PGA now he should have received a big shot of confidence. Not ready to go full Jim and back him in though.
It will be interesting to see him on a course where he has to hit driver a lot more.

You got your wish, Bluu, and he failed the test.

I suspect this is what we'll get from Tiger from now on. If he produces in one event, that is no guarantee he'll show the same form in the next one.

I've jumped off the bandwagon again. The early previews suggest Bellerive may play similar to Firestone, being fairly narrow, long, tree-lined and a bit soft after a wet summer. It sounds like a course requiring good driving, and errant driving might be punished.

for mine - the big issue was that he was missing it both ways.

His distance control was not as good as it was at the Open... and when you are missing the fairway with the 2 iron... you got big issues.

I have had his same operation and it took me a year a fiddling and tweaking to find a way to get the ball down the hill. He gets to do it full time with all the goodies that cash and no day job offer, so i am pretty impressed with how good he has been so quickly. He has been on the top of the leaderboard in every event he has played bar the US Open which he hit it like a muppet.

I just think the expectation that he should be winning in the first year back is ludicrous, and all this talk about being mentally strong enough to win is also bullshit. You need your body to co-operate and you need to have faith that your body will stand up to what you put it through. I watched the last two rounds of the Open and he hit 3 bad shots in 2 rounds. He was fking awesome. (those 3 shots cost him though...)

He will just work out what he can and cant do and find a new way to play the game, and you have to do this with a million people watching. and i bet you after this weekend - every idiot blogger willbe coming out with Can tiger come back, is his body tired, can he keep going... FFS, Phil is 48 and smashing it. Tiger has way more talent than he does.

On another note... J Day and Rory were cool to watch . . JD just needed some more putts.

Found a nice little article that puts a few things in perspective. Today is 1 year since TW started pitching again. He’s had a pretty good year I reckon, surpasses all of my expectations.

**Played a full schedule on the PGA Tour with zero WDs for the first time since 2013

**Contended in a number of tournaments, with 5 top-10 finishes so far

**Posted two top-6 finishes at major championships

    **Led a major on Sunday

**Raised World Ranking enough to qualify for WGC events

**Made himself a near lock for the 2018 Ryder Cup team

He's had an amazing year really. It's his own previous successes that make it look lesser than what it is. Have a look at the tournaments and how he's fared vs the likes of Speith, McIlroy and numerous others ranked well ahead of him. He's gone quite ok especially considering so many of us thought he'd never get thru 4 days of golf ever again. He's never won a major coming from behind previously. Can he put it together? His driving is often off and when it's not the putter often runs cold. He may also have to learn to win again.

Well... statistically today’s round was the best he’s played all year. Driving it well and his irons were really good. If the lip outs were lip ins he’s looking at 63 today.

He got trampled by the masses in round 3, and I thought he putted better with the Taylormade Anser copy. His iron play has not been as good as those days during the PGA.

That Bryson guy seems to be the real deal too... very much like a Steve Stricker swing that he can get out there 300+. His putting action is soem next level mechanical wizardry.

I have always wondered why don't caddies (or players) who are at a later tee time spend their time watching the earlier players putting on the course greens via their mobile or similar? If would seem to me they would benefit greatly from seeing and taking notes on how the putts break around the hole and the speed?

Surely that’d be deemed an unfair advantage?

Is it? Not sure I've ever heard of it being in the rules of golf. Or is it just a gentleman unspoken agreement?
