Has anyone noticed that the GameGolf database seems to go down a bit lately? I can't upload my round from today, and noticed that their site is down again.

I don't think I've seen much in the way of improvements lately either.
The Web Page was up late last week, but has been down since Saturday for me. They have had some down time in recent months, though it always seemed to be on weekends, so I had assumed for maintenance. Different error messages this time though, lie a server out or down. Golfbox is still selling the Live product.
nearly all my tags are worned off now without numbers showing on it anymore;
the putter one snapped off a few months ago. Pretty much not used any more :P
I should have added, the Corporate website is still up and operating normally.

You used to be able to buy replacement tags for about $5/6 each, not sure if that is still the case? I just use marker pen to remark the tags when the tops wear down. And the last couple of times I have just bought a new GameGolf Live from Golf Box, which includes the Belt Unit and 18 tags for $99. I use mine a lot, I have close to 600 rounds of data now.
It's still down, which is pretty poor. I sent an email to support yesterday and haven't got a reply, which is fine by itself, but they have usually been very quick with support for map changes, etc.
It is not looking good. I sent several emails yesterday to various GG email addresses I had accumulated over the 6 years I have been using it. No replies. There are a few posts on GolfWRX by supposedly long term users that are saying that they have shutdown.
I emailed Golfbox to give them a heads up, but they didn't quite seem to get it. They replied that I should contact Game Golf Support!
I did a twitter search, and some people think they may have shutdown, as the CEO left a little while ago. If true, that's a shame, as it was a cool way to look at data. I probably won't replace it with anything, but if I did, the Shotscope looks like an alright option. https://shotscope.com/ca/how-it-works/
The Garmin option seems way too expensive though, as you have to buy a golf watch, plus pay for expensive tags.
It is a real shame. They never charged an annual Subscription fee, which was probably a business mistake. Whether it would have saved the business now is of course debatable. GG Pro was expensive and didn't do well from what I can tell. It seemed to be a case of select a price point and then build a system to that. I never saw any value in the extras it supposedly provided.
Arccos is expensive, seems to require you to carry your phone in your pocket, plus there is an annual sub of $100US after the first year. Seems very exy, for little extra features or benefits?
There is supposed to be a Shot Scope V3 out around the middle of year that will be similar to GG in operation.
For now I have gone back to manual stats. I have always had a spreadsheet that I have run side by side with GG,, so I have the high level stats history, but the ability to drill down was GG's best feature.
I would have paid a reasonable annual subscription for Gamegolf. I still have my Garmin Fenix 5 where I mark score, fairway, green, putts, and penalty shots at the end of every hole. It tries to detect when I have hit a shot, but it doesn't work very well. It might have to do if GameGolf is gone.
i'm glad I didn't upgrade to the pro version

It would be interesting to know how well it picks up shots automatically, especially putts.
will be testing out the S60 this weekend to see how well it works
Andy, that to me is the major difference, the auto shot detection.
It can be a little touchy where it can add a shot but like GG it can be easily edited after the round.
I found that I could never get used to having to tag the GG after each shot.
The putting works well also but like the GG (tagging), you need to push a button on the watch when you are standing over the hole for this to accurately record where the hole is and the length of each putt.
SS is excellent as far as customer service goes also.
I have asked for a number of clubs to be added to the database and these have been done within 24 hours every time.
SS customer service is in the UK.
Stats to me seem very similar overall to GG.

And not for the first time recently. Even I did a better job of an upgrade. These guys don't even update their social media on a regular basis.
