Had a little hiccup with my device today. Half way through my round I noticed the belt clip was loose. Checked it and the metal pin that connects the clip to the body had slightly dislodged and the clip was not "clipping on" anymore. I managed to repair it to some extent, but I assume there was some sort of spring also on the pin, and it seems to have dislodged and is now gone.

Would have to agree with this. Nothing is too much trouble either. And they listen to feedback as well, lots of requests on the forum seem to get implemented or issues are fixed.

A golf app I wouldn't mind trying when I get my pebble watch, Golf Pad, has tags available to use with it. I think the tags cost $99US for 15. Then it must work similar to this, cept you need to keep your phone in your pocket and tap the tag to it before each shot. Obviously doesn't work with iphones as their nfc is locked down. But I can't think of anything worse than having my phone in my pocket during a round of golf.

Still use mine and love it. Stats and all that is great. But also all the different rounds you play on different courses are saved forever which is cool.

I'm sure it'll keep getting better and better and the design itself is stupid simple to use.

I only have 5 rounds in GG so far, with 2 of them being my lowest ever, so my handicap is rather low (5.9).

I need to play many more times to get any usefulness out of the average distances and accuracy listed for each club.

I received the replacement clip pack on Thursday. Installation was straighforward, they provided a screw driver with the appropriate tip, plus spare screws and a link to an instructional video. Used it yesterday and all works fine. Another example of the outstanding support Game Golf provides.

I also had one of my tags come apart when I was trying to remove it from a grip end, Courty has posted on having had a similar problem I think. Anyway, I still had the 2 pieces (Cap and Base), otherwise undamaged, so I glued it back together with club Epoxy, used a couple of bulldog clips to hold it together whilst it dried. Used the tag yesterday and it worked fine.

For those that are using it. Is all the data helping in any way or is it just stat collection for some fun?

    Mostly fun for me

Although I am seeing some interesting figures with my driver and 3 wood. It is convincing me to not use driver at all or get one that goes further.

I am finding it very useful, but I am not the norm with my club rotations, frequency of play etc. It has convinced me that Driver length isn't everything, accuracy and being workable are more important to me and usually give me better scores. Length and accuracy aren't necessarily mutually exclusive though, and the data is helpful for me keeping track on my Driver Stats and how I score ultimately. It has also convinced me to use other than driver on any hole were I am likely to be playing mid iron or less for my 2nd shot. The algorithm that they are using to estimate your average club distance seems to be pretty good to me, and has negated the need for a mishit tag.

I find the iron distance stats probably the least valuable overall, I rarely hit a full iron, I prefer to club up and swing easy. And it is surprising how few true irons shots I actually play in around. Wedges are more important to me, but again distance is generally irrelevant, greens hit etc are more important.

Reviewing the round when I upload it is also a good time to review your course management, and the auto collection of stats is a great side benefit.

    Cheers guys.
How do you go on those really shocking days where nothing is going right finding the enthusiasm to tag each shot?

I ask this as I used to love keeping my stats after a round but after 6 months of playing some horrid golf rounds I'd had a gut full as nothing about it was fun any more.

For me, tagging has become part of my set up and is an almost instinctive action. I actually still attempt to tag, even if I am not using GG. As to those rounds you refer to, I have had a few of them recently due to carrying any injury that screwed up my swing action. Some I kept, some I just erased çause there wasn't enough actual golf produced to warrant further analysis!

With great difficulty sometimes I use phone app. Had to edit 6 of the 8 shots I had on a par 3 on Sunday as I was too angry to be tagging
