Not sure what hole it was, maybe the 6th. All I can remember is a thick stand of trees on a hill that I hit my first three tee shots into. My seventh was on the fairway, but after a desperate search I found the first one.
230m par 4 sounds like fun. Did you hit a 7 or an 8?

Had a 4-putts at Cabramatta GC on Wednesday. Par 5 13th. On front of the green for eagle putt. 1st putt didn't make it over the up slope and rolled back pass my initial spot. After that it was all downhill from there. Or should that be uphill? Either way a very disappointing finish.

Question: Is a 4 putt worse if your first putt is for 4 points, and you finish with 1 point, or more painful if you are putting for 5 points and finish with 2?
It is a moot point for me because I never reach greens in less than reg, and I don't get 2 shots on any holes (yet), but I have seen a few guys four putt on a two-shot hole they have reached in reg.
Another question: Noren claimed that his first putt rolled back down the same hill he putted up and then further away than the first one. I don't think I've ever seen that (but I can think of greens where it is possible). Has anybody else ever done that? (Chipping up a hill and failing doesn't count. Most people have done that)

I did it at the Vic Champs a couple of years ago at Moonah Links. Par 3 green, two tiers, and a really big drop between the two. Hit a great shot that just trickled to the edge of the top tier and rolled down to the bottom. My first putt didn't make it up the hill and rolled back past my feet. Much mirth ensued. I smashed the second putt to be sure and put it past the pin and off the green. The third putt made it back on but I was too rattled to hit it near the hole in case it scooted off down the hill again and left it waaaaay short. Two more putts and I was in for 6.

The 13th green at Cabramatta has a steep uphill front and the 2nd tier feeds severely left to right. The greens at Cab was very slick (mrbluu can vouch for that) as we just held the Cabramatta Cup Saturday past.
The 5th green can also bring the ball back to your feet if you don't make it up the hill, but that is for another story
I had a 4-jibber on the 9th at Cairns this morning. I was 6m behind the flag for 2. The putt from there to a front pin location is a very slippery downhiller. I've seen many a putt run off the green from there. I babied it a little too much and left it a metre short. The next one ran over the lip and trickled 1.5m past. The return hooked a left just before the hole and finished 6 inches away. I can't remember the last time I had a 4-putt.
I should check in other threads, but I'm too lazy. Did Lefty witness this?
If so, maybe we can get a second point of view.

Not an OZgolfer, but it's still a 4-jibber
Checking in for the 1st at South Lakes, Goolwa on the OzGolf day on Sunday.
It is a Par 4, chipped on with my 3rd shot but I wasn't close. 1st putt went quite a bit past, 2nd putt to within a foot, rushed the third one and missed just underneath. Tap in for a 7 for 1 point.
Thankfully it got better from there - not even a 3 putt after that
I think Rory's pair of 4putts should get a special mention here.
I bet no one can beat this. Last monthly medal I went 3 putt, 4 putt, 4 putt on consecutive holes. The only thing in my defense the holes were placed in some crazy spots on slopes and the greens were fast.
Cheers
Craig

Just checkin in a 4 putt from about 25ft. Hit ground behind ball on first putt only goes halfway smash next putt 5ft past then compound the errors by missing the putt back.
Putted pretty well except for this brain explosion!
Someone in our pennant team 4 for double today. Not naming names but it was our #4.
