Default Things you do that defy professional advice ...

I have two swing / playing strategies that run contrary to almost every pro's advice I have come across. But they work for me:

    - I hit the ball with a draw. However, I have kept the stats. for the past year and I found that I hit nearly a third more fairways when I tee it up on the far right of the tee box (as a right hander) every time rather than the left. Every pro keeps telling me to tee up on the left due to my draw, but, and I accept it is mostly psychological, it just works better for me if I line up on the right, aim straight down the tree line and work it back towards the middle. With this approach, I almost never miss the fairway to the right. Teeing up on the left introduces a block (no idea why - again, probably psychological) and I miss both left and right.

    - I have the ball in about the middle of my stance for every club including driver. As soon as the ball creeps further towards my left foot, I start to get the pull-hooks. For whatever reason, I simply hit the ball straighter and longer when it is centred. Again, every pro tells me I need to move it further forward.

Tee it up on the side you want to miss, the shape dont matter, aim away from the trouble not at it.

I have never heard of advice like tee up left if you hit a draw. Makes no sense.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.
