ACA invade the workplace of a Wodonga GC board member. Classy as one would expect.

Evidently he’s working on a Pro career so moving to Qld to make that happen.

What was more interesting was Aker mentioning about being overlooked 8 times for coaching roles at AFL Clubs.
Says a lot that no AFL club wants him.

He's been "working" on getting to golf pro level for 5 years. It's not going to happen, he's just not good enough. Along with his passion for Bitcoin he's just looking for the first time easy path

I put my name down yesterday for the comp at Oxley today, and was told that I would be playing with three visitors from Nudgee, which was a bit concerning considering the known quality of membership there. I was pleasantly surprised to find that one of my playing partners was Matt Renshaw (former test opener, Qld Bulls opener, and my favourite Brisbane Heat player). The first hole made him look like a dud player, but it turns out that he is pretty good. He plays off 5, and hits it pretty long, although come out really low off the driver sometimes. I've got no idea what he scored today, but he got screwed by the course a few times, and I don't recall any birdies.

Maybe I could have asked for one on behalf of my son, but when you can't even sign each other's cards at the moment, you probably shouldn't ask for an autograph.

That would be pretty cool. I've been a cricket fan since I can remember.

Some mates of mine in my social club are also in the music biz, they were meant to have a round with Alice Cooper last year or whenever it was he was here last. Some miscommunication ruined that though.

I knew we had a thread on this.

I watched a bit of the celebrity golf event that Ash Barty, Ricky Ponting and various US celebrities played in on Kayo today.

Knowing that Aussies never lie about their handicaps, I have two conclusions to draw. Firstly, the courses pro events are held on are really hard. Most of the celebs really struggled on the 1st hole at Liberty National, which looked a fairly standard water down the left opening hole. I was embarrassed for Ash Barty, who took at least a triple.

Secondly, the gap between your standard amateur off scratch and your standard pro is really wide. The cameras do not lie regarding the difference between a pro golf swing and an amateur golf swing.

Too be fair, I only watched about half and hour. Maybe the celebs got better as the day went on, but I simply couldn't take more than what I saw.

Ash Barty plays at brookwater, although it's pretty short off the red tees. Even though they're used to TV coverage, I imagine it's different when you're playing a different sport. Barty plays off about 4, and I thought Ponting was pretty close to scratch?

I reckon it’s more like a gulf between the pros and a scratch amateur.

Su Oh was the #1 amateur in the world off +8 before she turned pro and her current world ranking is #114.

Barty said she was off four, and had to play off the men's tees. I only watched a small bit and only saw her play two approach shots, and both were to within a few metres, which was impressive.

That is not at all surprising, based on his exploits with the willow in hand.

Yeah, I'd definitely say Maxi is the most athletically gifted of that lot, probably good at any sport he tries. Not that the others are bad.
