    Default Putter counterbalance weighting

Was chatting to the guys in the proshop at Gungahlin Lakes GC on the weeken and they were saying that there is a counterbalance weighting system that you can install in the top of your putter shaft.
    Anyone tried it?

I have putted with the TM daddy long legs and Scotty Futura (I think) counter balanced putters and they dont feel too bad

It's all I use now. I have 2 home mades from cut down belly putters (2ball and Yes!), and I have a Futura X and Lajosi counterbalance on the way.

Definitely takes the wrists out, as I feel the stroke is a lot slower/smoother now. I have dropped any average of 3 to 4 putts per round using them.

You can get the counterweights from any US golf supply chain:

You can also go to your local nut and bolt store, and buy a 1/2" clevis pin.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I've installed Tour Lock Opti Vibe weights in two cut down belly putters and it was dead easy and can be removed easily too.

It was the Tour Lock Opti Vibe system that they were talking about.

I like the feel of a counter balanced putter, may have to give it a try.

I've got a 40g Tour Lock weight installed in my Yes!. Not the opti-vibe, just the normal counter balance weight. I originally liked the look and feel of the putter when I first picked it up, I then went through a bit of a trial with a few different weights and ended up liking the feel even more with the 40g installed. It definitely changes the feel of the putter so it would just come down to personal preference.

I guess you can always give it a go and if it doesn't work there will surely be a ho on here that will buy it

As it turns out I've got those in my Cleveland and Yes putters, when they were cut down by the golf dr in Sydney. I like them. Added extra weight as my putter is shorter than standard, but it doesn't make the club few head heavy.

I've done a similar thing for a mate's putter when I cut it down for him. I joined 2 10g weights with some masking tape, wrapped some more tape around it to thicken it up, then just used epoxy to glue them into the shaft. A little crude but seems to have done the job.

Still a classy putter imho. Makes a good noise when the face and ball make contact

Has anybody tried re-gripping their Kirk Currie putter? I've seen a few examples online so it must be doable. Am I right in saying the existing grip is like a metal skeleton with like a tennis wrap-like grip wrapped around it?
