After a few rounds of scoring extremes scoring from 3 under to 84's I am sick of NFI where the ball will end up. A fried egg off the tee yesterday was enough to know I need help. FFS with a scratch hcp it is embarrassing to hit it this inconsistent. Anyone have a recommendation for getting a few lessons in Victoria. I was thinking of Yarra Bend's Peter Knights or Brad Hughes or maybe someone has another recommendation.

I only know plugged in a bunker as a fried egg.

As for whom to see in Vic? I know Hughes is regarded a very good and if your a bit Hoganish with your swing then he's the best one to see.

Heard good reports about Hughes and his teaching theories. It would be good to shoot some consistent numbers I must have got into some bad habits due to hitting so many varied shots lately. Wanting to get competitive in open events so a bit of work ahead. Do you see someone in SA?

drinking alcohol is bad for you! EXcept if you are on holidays with the mrs it is only then that drinking is acceptable. Shit golf is not good...

Since coming back to the game from my 6 year break I don't practice and I haven't had a lesson or considered having one. I enjoy the game more now by just turning up once a fortnight. Have about 20 chip shots and few putts to warm up and and just play with what game I've got on the day. I don't want to get serious about it again as it becomes un-enjoyable expecting to play well often.

I've deviated a bit from the question. To be honest I'm not sure if any of the teaching Pro's are any good in S.A atm.
In the past I've had lessons with Roger Stephens @ South Lakes (Goolwa), he was great for my short game but no so much for my full swing. Started to make a little head way with the full swing under Chris Halliday when he was at Highercombe (now at West Lakes used to be called Riverside) but gave the game away in that same year through frustration. Not Chris's fault as I was cooked by the time I saw him and just couldn't be bothered after club membership renewal was up.

There's a couple others that I've had lessons with that I don't rate but no need to mention.

Given the opportunity I would personally have a lesson with Brad Hughes.

I'm finding Wayne Rogers at Growling Frog real good CT, for me anyway, he still plays and is easy to work with, not too far from you either

Stuart Leong teaches at Albert Park. Stuart is the best coach I have had in 40 years!
Very knowledgeable, very approachable (i.e. not a wanker like lots) and can seriously play as well.
He was Director of Coaching for the PGA so he knows his stuff.

How often are you in Melbourne to see him Pete?

Recently, only occasionally Bruce...but my work base has just moved to Melbourne so will be catching up with Stu again!
He is the best short game coach I have seen...by far!

By the sound of it, you weren't far off scratch a few years back. I suspect that you still have 95%, but can't identify the current weak link and anything you've tried recently has compounded the problem.

Post your swing here and get Virge to have a look. He has a great eye for this.
