OOOOOh! you have too hit the green to get an NTP! I always thought it was how far you could keep it away from the flag. ( Nowa Thatsa Pulla).

Picked up 2 on Sunday at Tin Can Bay Golf Club. Worth a ball each.

5th and 7th hole for those playing at home. Was only an inch off getting another one too. Didn't think the ladies would be too impressed if I got another one. I had enough dirty looks as it was.

Nice shooting! Do ladies have to be on the green for ntp's?

It's pretty decent for a country track. You would need to play it a few times to know the best lines of play and where not to leave the ball on the greens.

Fairways were in good nick. I never copped a bad lie. Greens were pretty slick but ran nice and true. All the par 3's were different lengths for me which is pretty rare.

Got to a 137m to the pin par 3 today & was having a so so round when I thought I'd take the piss & hit a 30m draw/hook up & over a 50m tall tree with an AP2 gap wedge to 98cm. Missed the putt because I'm a knob but got the NTP.

I ended up winning the NTP on 8 during Saturday's Monthly Medal at 2.1m. It was the only bright spot during an otherwise crap round. Made the putt, too!

Congrats! Hole in ones are always good!

I had 3 NTPs on Wednesday - on the par 3 4th, the par 3 13th and the par 4 8th (pennant pin hole).

    Missed the putt on 8

    +1, but 38cm from 151m.

'Dumb but chivalrous act of the week' - I hit first, ball is sitting in front of the cup and they ask, if we are sharing the jackpot. I say 'If you normally do it, I will.' as I'm playing in an arvo group, rather than the usual morning tee time.

Next up knocks just right of the cup and it was looking to be closer than mine, as we walked up of the green. I thought I'd pulled off the 'Smart and chivalrous act of the year', but he ended up being 41cm from the hole.

Still 25% of $414 is better than nothing, and I'm now new best friend x3.

    ps. Same club as before.

    You've been conned, Dotty.

It is almost standard for people to say that in jest, but nobody expects you to pay up.

I don't think I've ever seen it, but to be fair, I haven't seen too many super-pins or eagles nests go off.

Not too silly, as two of the others were pennant players. Afternoon field generally share it or shouts the bar after presentation.

Half the morning field don't pay the extra $3 entry anyway. (But we tend to give a sleeve of premiums to playing partners.)

Club has always had a dozen balls for NTP on the short 9th, which 99% used to share. Now the club automatically splits the winnings into the four ball accounts.
