If you have to brace yourself when there is a small gust of wind, then you are skinny!!!

The idea is to work out what (if anything) makes you feel rubbish out of all the things we eat. Eliminate everything for 30 days, then reintroduce it in a planned manner to gauge your body's reaction.

yes that used to be one sitting, but I'm trying to do this calorie counting thing but doing small things like instead of having 2 double black coffees with 3 sugars for breakie, I've gone one coffee with 2 sugars and a green tee. Bacon and Eggs with toast was replaced with Baked beans and rice cakes...Might throw in a light weights session and/or a 30min walk later.

The goal is to lose 8kgs in 8 weeks.

The long term goal is to eat really well 4-5 days a week to maintain the 80kgs and add lots of exercise in the form of cycling, swinging and weights.

Fair enough, but maybe try 1800kcal first, and go down if need be.

Ps, you've gone from a sorta ok brekkie of protein and carbs to a brekkie of carbs with carbs. Baked beans and eggs or steak might be a bit better.

Ha. Possibly. It's funny though, I'm not really missing the things I thought I would so far.
You don't do it forever and a day (although you can) but you just get smarter about your eating and understanding how your body reacts to food.

Paleo is hogwash "if" you are training, The concept about eating whole foods is a better idea. How can you train once/twice a day without any fuel. I tried paleo and I thought it was a good idea until I was loosing energy and not being able to train, switched to a whole food approach and ditched the calorie counting and I lost more weight doing that and still have the energy to lift and run. My friend and I did a 12 week challenge, both ended the same time and roughly lost the same amount of weight. He kept going with Paleo and I went to whole foods. His weight was stable and I continued to trained I lost alittle more weight, I stopped training due to injury and diet due to christmas and he stopped his paleo diet about the same time. I have put on roughly 2kg of 3.5 weeks and he has gain over 7kg in 3.5 weeks so now I can tell people to jam there diets up their cake holes when they start preaching there crap to me.

The Official Tale Of The Tape - 7/1/2014.

The last chunk of post Xmas Toblerone has been eaten, so normal lifestyle is ready to resume.

Guts - 61cm - a measure from one hipbone to the other, showing how much spare tyre I have. I suspect this is the most important measure of them all, so I hope this reduces over time
    Chest - 113cm

Actual weight = roughly 106kg ( I bought a cheap scale from Bunnings, which isn't digital, or very accurate I suspect).

I'm not going to diet as such, but I'll try to follow the more and less principle of more output (exercise) and less input (rubbish in my diet). I'm hoping for a minimum of 50k a week on the bike, 10k of walking and 2 walking games of golf while not going overboard on the biscuits and lollies that are my primary weakness.

I'm only going to update these measurements once a month, and I'm not going to stress about it too much.

Same as dotty - cutting the crap. Would be more if my wife stopped inviting people over and putting out nibblies.

    We have 4 wickets.

Not much exercise yet, except for a 30k ride. I have been working in the yard tree lopping, pulling up stumps and putting in a golf green. Too many beers still, but will aim for more exercise this week.

    104.2 for me yesterday.
Will weigh in once a week each Tuesday.
Aiming for 95 by watching what I eat, cutting down on the booze and walking as much as I can.
