I'm currently on a 19 day exercise streak (swim, ride, run), and unfortunately the weight isn't dropping off as quickly as I thought it might. I disgustingly got myself over 92kg, and it is currently under 91kg. Hopefully at the end of the month there is a bit more progress. The goal is to get under 80kg, but ideally 75-76kg would make me happier. I haven't gone hardcore with the diet yet, but with school returning next week it will be easier to stick with an eating routine.

Good work Andy. I know you'll get back there once you're properly active again.

Trying to do the 16/8 intermittent fasting, adding a couple of weight training sessions a week and back into cycling.

Also going prep some lean meals like this.

My update...hovering around 97-98. Not quite as rigorous on the diet as I was, but still mixing the cardio/weights at the gym plus parkrun every so often. That said I wouldn't mind dropping 4-5kg before QLD Champs.

I've registered for Great Cycle Challenge again, plus MyMarathon...both in October so I'll be putting some work into the bike again as I get closer to the time.

Wanted to add on the internment fasting, u don't have to calorie count but I'm trying to aim for 1500 calories a day. Also I'm aiming to fast 4-5 days a week, but I have been able to do everyday since last Thursday. Fasting has been fairly easy so far and the biggest change for me was leaving sugar out of my coffees during fasting periods.

I'd actually love to try intermittent fasting, as I eat about 6 times a day but they're relatively small meals, so I never feel properly full and feel like my life revolves around food. The wife talked me out of it because she wants me to eat breakfast and set an example for our daughter, so I've stuck with what I'm doing for now.

Good luck with it mate. That looks like a decent meal, and if you don't drop weight at 1500 calories then you never will! I know you're only short but honestly I would start a bit higher than that, you are better off losing it slow and steady so you don't lose too much lean mass, that was the mistake I made and now I'm having a helluva time trying to add muscle back on again. Also you need to be fuelled properly if you're cycling and lifting

Sounds like you have a good handle on it though. Enjoy the journey!

    Thanks Ben.

I'm trying to lose weight but maintain a decent lifestyle, so all this is a starting point for me and I figure trying something is better than nothing.

My problem is I'm not really a small meal type of guy that's why I tried the 16/8 fasting. I tried the 5/2 fasting before were you eat 600 calories 2 days a week and then normal the rest of the days, but I didn't find that sustainable. Also I was starving all day on the fasting days.

I'm using 1500 a guide as I know I can do 2000 calories with some exercise and I will still drop some weight. So the current aim is 1500 and fast 4 days a week if possible, anything more that that is a bonus and I'm not too stressed if I got over. The thing with the 16 /8 is I'm not snacking after dinner and I cut out the sugars and anything else that will spike my insulin levels during the fasting period.

Yesterday I had about 3000+ calories including chicken schnitzel wrap and beers for lunch and Steak, Salad, Chips and Pepper sauce for dinner with a couple of more beers after basketball. I had some ice cream and fruit for an afternoon snack...hahaha

I don't have any muscle to lose so I think I'm going to be ok..hahaha....

I saw someone like that on Embarrasing Bodies last year.

He looked like a 65kg scrotum.

I know what you mean. I'd rather eat large meals too - the only way I manage to eat small meals is I (still) track all my food in MyFitnessPal - I'm a bit obsessive about it still.

On sugar, I don't think it's a bad thing necessarily, in moderation - I eat plenty of it still (but I know exactly how much carbohydrate I'm consuming, as much as it's possible to track it anyway). But I wanted to save my daily carb allotment for other things than using them up in drinks so I now mostly drink black coffee, put artificial sweetener in my tea, and drink Pepsi Max Vanilla (or Coke No Sugar.... nicer than Zero IMHO) if I want a soft drink, or just plain mineral water with a splash of lemon juice. You will definitely get used to it

It's just the sugar during fasting at this stage. I rather not do soft drinks at all than do diet drinks or artificial sweeteners.....

It's all mental. If you will yourself not to be fat, you won't be.

Removing the mirrors and scales in your house helps too.
