It has been decided by last years captains that a tradition shall start of "passing on the armband" to a new captain, selected by the previous years captain (don't worry future Confederate captain, you will get a new armband, not my puked on one from last year! ).

    Let the war begin (again!).

Monsta, you should just hit 3 iron off most tees and be in the right position rather than blast driver into the next suburb

Not sure if the courses remain the same as 1990 (i know RQ has changed significantly) but it does make for an interesting week away. Woodlands comments about tiny greens that missing is death, and the course record being 68 is kinda scary.
Read about Woodlands 4th. Epitomises this. Only 260m long but the green is raised, tiny and just enough slope to scare the shit out of anyone.

Can't imagine these two courses would've changed a hell of a lot over this time. I played Woodlands in 1998 and it's basically the same as it is now.

Doing up my course guide for you all I quickly realised that every hole started with the description "Make sure you're on the (appropriate) side of fairway to allow for the best / any angle in."

Keep it in play, work on your short game for the next 40-odd days is about all I can say!

Standing on the opposite side of the trenches, scowls on their faces, chewing tobacco dribbling down their chins, the Union battle lines part to reveal their newly promoted Captain...

The Confederacy (or Union for that matter! ) has not seen a soldier with such passion, heart, loyalty, dedication and skill for building trophies as our newly promoted Vice Captain.

The Union troops see your VC and laughter breaks out through the ranks at his shoelaces matching his combat greys.

Sudden silence falls across the battlefield as the sun is blocked out by a large winged shadow. The shadow swoops down and lands in front of the Union lines. Resplendent in his navy uniform, Solarman presents himself for duty on his winged unicorn!

Cheers from the Union hit fever pitch, and this shit is on like Donkey Kong!

We welcome our western brothers in arms,

Induction will involve learning the following phrases (southern accent not required, but always welcomed)

    "Die Union Scum !!"
    "PeteyD lost by how many???"
    "Where is Solarman?"
"Why are the Union scum crying again?"

The only horn playing will be the big bullhorn that sounds at the end of the day when the Greys lay down their clubs and bow down to the Men from the North.
Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners.
