    Default Victoria Park Brisbane

    Hi gents,

Anyone here played at Victoria Park before/recently? I'm quite new to the game and playing there on Saturday. I have never played there before (and playing with a group I've never played with before either). So just trying to prepare myself a little - thought I'd try and get an idea of course layout but the website only has one terrible picture. Does my map look right?
Any tips from anyone who has played there before?

Not sure if we're playing White or Red tees either.. Assuming white maybe? What's normal?

    Code:
    HOLE PAR WHITE RED
    1 4 268 251
    2 3 158 151
    3 3 186 160
    4 4 319 253
    5 3 128 115
    6 3 99 86
    7 4 243 210
    8 5 445 410
    9 3 123 108

    Thanks,
    Zennon

Unless you sit down to piss, you will be playing from the white markers.
    Forum needs more banter.

Zennon, I haven't played it for a long time. Since then they have chopped the course up, firstly for the inner City Bypass and now the Legacy Way tunnel.

It will be quite hilly in spots, but should not be very long, as you can tell from the scorecard. Your map doesn't look right to me. I thought there a couple more holes to the top right of where your picture ends.

Ah yes, holes 10-11 and 15-18 are North of the Club house, which I cut out of my picture to try and get it small enough to attach to the post. Having said that I couldn't get it small enough in the end, hence why I just uploaded it separately anyway (and I didn't colour in 12-14 either) as we are only playing the first 9

You're not missing much on the back 9. 5 very short par 3s and some short par 4s. The roadworks have taken a big bite out of what was already a short course.

As for tips (aside from there being better options elsewhere in brissie) don't go long on the 3rd, if in doubt aim for the big bank left of the green on 6 and let it run onto the green and blast away at as many if the short par 4s as you can - I've never played anywhere with as many drivable greens.

Oh, and take a cart. There's not a flat bit of land on the course and it's a pain in the arse to walk.

For the price you are going to pay for a round and carts at Vic Park there are better options in the same price range.

EDIT you're playing for free. My mistake. Carry on.

Vic Park is a fun little course to play - a few too many par 3's but worth going to - not too hard a walk either. I think they have a 2 for one Tuesday deal too - Only pricey to play there if you use a cart.

Yeah totally free hence why I'm so excited - and I love playing places I haven't played before either.
having said that, kinda wish I had played there before since I'm playing with the missus's boss and guys from her work and don't want to suck too bad

This was always the course you played if it was a wet week, the greens were elevated and didn't hold water.
Having said that, I haven't played it since it got the revamp.

Sing out if you can't make it..it's a great function venue from what I have heard.

    Haha, not likely I'm afraid!

(don't think they'd want someone of your calibre playing with them anyway )
