Well.. got home had a beer and then went to sleep!

What a cracking weekend of golf and beer and bloody hell was I the only one to see that lead singer on Friday!!

BIG THANKS TO MATTY, another well planned/ organised event and now I have massive man love of Bonville and Pete's attire!!

Thanks to the guys that had to put up with me in Dotty, Pep's, Daves and Davepuppies had a great time.
Do I get a merit bar for closest to the pin??

Oh,, and huge congrats to benno on the win. Tough weather conditions to shoot that kind of score I guess it helps staying off the cans...Bloody Queenslanders .

This point is something I have been thinking about over the last 24hrs, and I agree that getting some form of leader board running. After dropping one in the water on 17 I was sure I was dead and buried. Not just from someone in our group, but after the way we all played, I thought someone before us might have snatched it.

On top of all that, my approach into 18, and the fear of a 3 putt in front of everyone, really gots the nerves jumping. Actually knowing I was in with a chance would have really cranked that up. I think it would have really added an extra "something" to an already great weekend.

I had round updates going up until the 12th for the round, but in the midst of the drama I lost track of things. Plus a few dead spots around the course as well when it came to phone reception.

Gamebook in the hands of enough people who know how to use it is great (worked well last year in Qld), but a better way of keeping score updates ticking along is something I'll look into for next year.

Wouldn't have been in front of everyone anyway mate, which was disappointing.

Do you happen to have a breakdown of the putting comp results like you did last year? I'd like to add it to the OP (not for mere personal satisfaction, of course...)
Qualifying position was based on number of putts sunk from a tee placed 1m, 2m and 4m. Countbacks were determined on aggregate distance from hole of missed putts.

    Qualifying ...
KJ put early runs on the board with 2 putts and missed the last by 14cm.
Davepuppies closed his eyes for 2 putts and 34cm.
Haystacks just hanging in there with 1 putt, 20cm and 35cm.
Matty was looking a chance with 1 putt, 12cm and 5cm.

Enter The Fave. Sunk his first, missed the second 22cm, but brought the crowd to their feet canning the long one. (CUL8R Haystacks)
Then very last qualifier Megawatty cans the first two, to dash the hopes of anyone only making one putt, and leaves the last 33cm away to jump to Q3.

    2v3 Semi.
DC68 scotthoch'ed the 1m putt by 34cm. (The crowd groaned.) Then sunk the next 2. (The crowd roars.)
Megawatty sinks the first, and misses the next by 21cm. A miss from 4m would be a loss. Sinking it will be 2 putts all and beat DC on a countback.
    And he sunk it.

    1v4 Semi.
Under the pressure, KJ misses all three putts by 30cm, 34cm and 16cm (for a total of 80cm).
DP matches this with misses by 65cm (it was a slick green) and 50cm. Sinking the 4m putt would be a win, but Cinderella stories don't happen in real life.

    Final.
KJ re-groups to sink the first, and leave the next ones 17cm and an impressive 1cm away from the holes.
MW returns fire with sinking the first and leaving the second 5cm away.
State-of-play is MW sink the last (or leave it within 13cm) to win.
And it slid past the hole to 27cm.

    Congratulations, KristianJ.

Not if you bounced it off the path on the left.

I hit 4 iron to 4ft with a back left pin to be beaten by one of the boys, 3 wood, glanced the tree, off the path, off the hill to 6 inches.

Anyone notice a large amount of balls on the fairways with peculiar markings on them?

The ego was bruised. The Coq was a tad muddy near the tip.
