There is no Asian Tour thread, and I refuse to start a 2017 Euro Tour thread with a tournament in Hong Kong in 2016, but the Fireman played in the Hong Kong Open, and won the Asian Order of Merit, so this is an appropriate place to talk about it.
How about the victory of my close personal friend Sam Brazel!
Even keen followers of Aussie Golf would struggle to know who he is. I only know who he is because he comes from Lismore, and features in the local media from time to time. He occasionally plays in the Ballina midweek comps when he is home. I've played in the group behind him, and the group ahead of him. Clearly, he learnt everything about how to win from the time his group caught up to mine and he saw me hit a good shot into our par 3 5th green.
Normally he struggles to make cuts, and never contends, so this was an awesome effort to birdie the last under pressure to win.
His handicap is (or was) +6 last time he played in our comp. I hope the handicapper takes more shots off him.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
Definitely impressive, given he has never been that close to winning before. He had to birdie the last, playing with a seasoned professional and Ryder Cup player. Sam seems to put very little effort in his swing, but he seemed to have not problem matching his playing partner for distance. I hope he uses the victory to have a successful 2017 in Europe.

Sam is one of the nicest blokes you would meet. Only 3 years ago he was playing the local pro am circuit. I got to play with him a couple of times when he played in the Moranbah one. Was nearly always the last to leave the club after a night on the beers with the locals. Congrats to him and no doubt he would of had a few last night as well.

He held it together really well and his 2nd shot on 18 was just fantastic, you would have thought he was a seasoned winner and even more so after draining the winning putt.
Well done to Sam and I hope it's the start of even better things to come.
Scott Hend almost drowned him in champagne on the 18th green, it was great to see.
the Fireman has got a start on the PGA tour in Mexico.......needs to "fire" up tho in the second round
Automatic payday regardless.
noice

What hole will he gas it on?

I hope he and the Belguim stick it to em but I think the young fella may be vulnerable, Ryder Cup says he's not but we'll wait and see
Played together plenty of times 👍
Hendy/Hideki
Not the ultimate result but top 10, $166 US in the kick, not sure whether that gets him into the PGA as well
