The feedback I got is about MGI in general is to stay away from them. They are made in Australia like the used to be and a little hit a miss with the quality. Parmaker seems to be the go.

The older feedback was to stay away. In the last few years, they seem to have really turned things around.

I bought a second hand MGI SL150c in March and it has performed flawlessly 2-3 games a week on a hilly course. It is the base model and doesn't have a remote, computer or GPS.

It is the brand of choice around here, where 30% of the members would use electric trolleys.

I think MGI is the go with the 2 year warranty.

Just trying to decide if the Navigator with the remote is the go, or the Hunter, which is a more basic model is what I want.

Last person I spoke to with one was very happy. They are mostly made in China now, not Australia, though I believe the elecs are made in Victoria.

If money isn't really an issue, the Navigator is the way to go. I'd never go back to a normal electric one. Sometimes I still wish I was using mine. One day I'll get around to putting new brushes and bearings in it. But it's way down on the project list at the moment.

Playing Pennant with a caddy spoils you. It's nice not having to push the Clic Gear. That being said, I still love carrying my sticks.

And yes, I am getting a little older.

I've thought about it but still can't bring myself to do it. Guy I played with at karrinyup had a really compact remote controlled one which looked nice though (not an mgi)

Pop into Hillview at Malaga and look at their range. I've had mine for a few years - pretty basic and cheap.

I have the MotoCaddy S3 with no remote and it has been flawless for 3 years now. My mate bought a MGI Navigator and, apart from having the board in the remote fail (replaced under warranty) he has had no problem with it. Solid unit.

I have had mine for over a year. Fantastic buggy, great backup service, fairly light (I have sore back and have no issues putting in and out of SUV), Navigator functionality is great and the 24v battery gets me over 2 rounds. The best feature of this buggy is the navigator/GPS facility. No matter what the terrain, if you point the buggy at a target it will go there no matter how hilly your course, it will use the GPS to correct itself to go straight. I have a heap of mates that bought cheaper chinese ones that are distributed from near my home, they work great but as soon as you hit any level change the buggy will veer down hill, so you are constantly correcting its steering.

I did have some issues because mine went too fast. It broke 3 gear mechanisms until they realised they made a batch with the chip incorrectly programmed where it would accelerate too fast from a stopped position, if you were starting on hills all the time eventually the gear would strip. They replaced the two gearboxes, the electronics, etc and it has not missed a beat since. It now takes off very smoothly, so fingers crossed.

Would highly recommend to anybody to spend the extra and get one of these....Stu

    Hi,

Had the MGI Navigator G800 for about 10 months now, LOVE IT.

Only issue is the tyres start slipping on the rim, a warranty replacement set have been ordered.

Oh, only problem is in winter, damp grass or steep slopes if wanting to turn, the tyres don't have much grip and can tend to slip, hope MGI bring out some different tyres.

    Kind regards, Ken

Hi Ken, I bit the bullet and got one. I love the thing. Agree about traction on wet grass.

I had an issue with condensation under the glass on the GPS unit. Completely replaced, no questions asked.

    Hi,

How bad was the condensation under the clear GPS window, I get a little if it has rained.? Most of the time it's fine.

About the size of a 5 cent piece. With the cost of them, it will be perfect or it is going back.
