Reminds me of an old idiom.
I've got one that doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere.
I've done a hammy! Not too bad, and I don't recall any pain or click sounds while on the course, but I definitely have an injury. 4 days of rest later and no improvement. Doctor Google says it is a common golfer's injury, but I've never heard of anyone sustaining it. Maybe they just don't admit it.
My question is: what will happen if I just try to play through it once a week and then have a proper rest over Christmas? Have any of you genuine athletes any experience of this?
Am I likely to make it much worse, or not?

I haven't had any major hamstring injuries from running, but it does get tight at times and maybe some minor strains. I've never considered the hamstring as a muscle used much during golf. Is it from the swing?
Worst case is that you turn a minor tear into a major tear, leading to a longer recovery.
If I had one, life would be better, because bending over is a problem.
When I had my back back and hip (obviously recovered now, thanks for asking) I tried to get one by the pro shop didn't have them, and couldn't get them due to covid supply problems.
The suction cup variety seems to be the best, and it doesn't damage the edge of the hole. The ones that work like tongs do damage the hole.
At this point, I'm going to have a week off, and see if there is progress. I'm bored already just sitting on the couch and 'resting'.
