    Default Lynwood Golf Club

Anyone else heard these guys are running on empty ie just about to go into administration?

I am contemplating joining this course but am concerned that the course is going to the wall and I'm not overly keen on rejoining the Likes of Richmond etc. Are there any others that I've missed?

I heard they had lost a significant amount of members, although I heard Stonecutters was also facing similar problems.

FWIW, I have not heard about Lynwoods troubles...it is certainly a course I'd look at joining if I was that way.

Thanks mate. I really enjoy the course and for the price I reckon its pretty good value ( $1200 odd).

What's the issue with Richmond? Admin, course, pro shop, etc? I'm thinking of a membership change too but what I do depends on whether or not I'm going to play cricket in summer...if I don't then I'll have time for Sat comp golf but Glenmore don't have tee times after half past 10.

I have no info one way or the other but it would surprise me if that area could sustain both clubs long term (i assume the fees are on the pricey side at lynnwood too)

With Riverside Oaks taking its share of corporate gigs I just dont think there's enough demand out there for two courses of that nature, which is a shame because having just played Stonecutters it's a great track and I've heard only good things about Lynnwood too.

Hi mate, CHCC is a great course but with a joining fee of around the $7500 and dues about the $2700 it too becomes a fairly expensive exercise! imagine all the Ho'ing you could do for $7500!!

Wasnt Lynwood the product of Kellyville selling its land for squillions? How could they blow the $ so quickly?

Rq, those rumours re Lynwood have been around for a year or two now. The place isn't going anywhere so no risk to join in my book. Probably no joining fee. Yearly subs same as Stonies when you take away the $200 bar tab incorporated into Stonies yearly subs.

I played there a couple of weeks ago. Condition as good as ever. Practice facilities probably best in Sydney. Best of all, not overly crowded and a top layout.

Not true mate. It's not far off membership capacity although they recently lowered the joining fee of $4500. Not sure what it is now, maybe half that.

I was wondering about the long-term survival of Lynwood, as I couldn't see the transitioned members/committee from Kellyville wanting to pay much more than their old annual subs.

But the new course would need a lot more than the old paddock to maintain. This ongoing annual expense would need to come out of the kitty, which was left-over from building the clubhouse.

I heard that the original plan included doing something with the heritage listed building near the driving range (wedding/function centre?). Unfortunately, this was set alight early in the course/clubhouse build process, and the club couldn't capitalise on it.

Maybe 35...but you'd be adding a bit of $$ on with M7 tolls both ways.

Yeah, There are no joining fees at Lynwood and I'm happy to support a good product.
