BPE, what's the worst ever score in a par round at Lynwood?
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
Rod the pro at Lynwood for the last 12 months was given his marching orders two weeks ago. Corrina has now taken his place. She has an excellent personality and will do good things for the pro shop/club. Yes there has been a rumor the club was in trouble, this is not really the case. Being a member there, they club frequently send out emails to us members letting us know weekly, what and how things are going. The club has been trading at a loss the last couple of years but remember they had a significant amount of money as reserve in the bank when it went live. They are from the last email I recall reading on this matter looking around to amalgamate with another club to ensure long term financial stability of the club.
No having said all this, with all the clubs around asking joining fees, ie StoneCutters, Castle Hill you will be hard to find better value for money for the price of membership at Lynwood. There are no better practice facilities anywhere out that way that even remotely come close to how good Lynwood's are. Nothing better than practicing off real grass.
You can still get $110 yearly membership at Riverside Oaks, should the $1260 at somewhere like Lynwood work out too much.

Currently the Club is offering membership to 31 July 14 for 12 months subs. This is attractive and further minimises the risk. It is highly unlikely administrators will be engaged anytime soon.
We allow members at Lynwood to pay by monthly installments through Pay As You Golf. Johnny's B&E roll is becoming popular.
I am sure I saw a score of around 150 the other week, that equates to about -18 in a Par event. The course isn't that difficult played sensibly.
What is your role at Lynwood BPE?
Do members get free range balls?
Cheers

GM. One of the benefits of being a playing member is you receive free tokens for range balls.
But aren't you allowed only a bucket or two max in a range session?

No. Members are allowed an unlimited number of tokens per day. What you may be referring to is a rule that members can only collect one token at a time. This was introduced recently to prevent members mistreating the facility, passing them on to non-paying visitors and storing tokens.
No wonder the place runs at a loss. At two buckets a week, I spend more than the annual subs on range balls each year.
This pretty much sums up the short-sightedness of golfers pushing to get the best value for their own money out of the various providers.

Must be expensive buckets!

Now I know the subs include free range balls, I could be a little more interested.
I think our subs are due at Richmond soon, not entirely sure.
Might need to give Lynwood another look

I personally get bored after 50-75 balls, I def struggle to hit 100.....
How do you guys spend your time with unlimited balls?
I would typically use every second club in my bag, but most balls with 5 and 7 iron.
I try to alternate between draw, fade, high, low shot shapes then straight ( rare)

Dave, I'm pretty sure I'll be joining Lynwood shortly as our membership at Richmond is due next month so jump on the band wagon!
BPE,
I appreciate your input and am confident I'll be placing my hard earned towards Lynwood this year.
RQ, good move I think mate...and agree with BPE's replies.
Will def look into it.
it will be another 2 months before I am back golfing ( Richmond golf club are laughing, I only was able to use the membership for 3 months!)
The idea of unlimited range balls is appealing.

What type of grass does Lynwood have on the fairways?
From memory the practice tee was pure couch.
In saying that I haven't been there for a couple of years....
