    Default Sydney's King - May 2013: Dotty

    Arthur_2.jpg...or 997243-kochie.jpg

    Username: Dotty

    Home club: Pennant Hills

    Sydney Event Won: Lynwood May

How often do you play? 2-3 times a week

    Current handicap: 10.2

    Lowest ever handicap: 6.9

Lowest Round: 5 over PHGC playing off 16. (Maybe a couple lower, but this is the standout)

Dream handicap: 5 more than my anchor

How long have you played golf? 30 years

How did you catch the golfing bug? My bro is a very good at all ball sports and I'm the opposite. Golf handicaps meant that we could finally compete on a level playing field.

    What's currently in your bag?
    Cleveland Classic XL 12*, Callaway Black-X 17*, Cleveland Mashie 20/23/26, TEE XCG-3 6-PW, Callaway X Forged 50/54/58, Ping Shea H

What golf ball do you use? Any $30/box specials (currently TM TP5)

Dream golf purchase: An 8 bed cabin overlooking Kangaroo Valley 8th or 17th.

Favourite golf course played? Kangaroo Valley with 9 mates (Best course was National Old)

Dream golf destination or trip? Can't beat playing every Wed. morning 5 mins away. (National, etc. in Victoria, if I had to travel)

If you could pick three others, dead or alive, to play a round with, who would they be? Virge666 (who is great to watch), my bro (who can talk swing mechanics to Virge), and my mate Scummy (so we can sledge each other for a free steak lunch, and a vanilla slice for each NTP.)

If you could pick three OZgolfers to play a round with, who would they be? WBennett, Grunt and Lagerlover (before he is world famous and starts charging appearance fees).

Favourite golf memory? Won four matches to make quarter final of club better-ball matchplay, and partner can't make the next match. A week of emails and phone 'conversations'. I took them on single-handedly to win 2 up. I stood on the 18th green feeling like Steven Bradbury.

Have you ever had a hole in one? If yes talk us through it. As close as Jana Pitman winning an Olympic medal.

Most embarrassing golf moment? Lynwood 2012 vs. Par with Ozgolf. 7 wipes, 2 halves on front nine, then 7 consecutive wipes. Standing on the 17th tee with -14, looking at -16 and thinking 'Will this rate worse than a 17 on the last at Magenta? Or a 8 and 7 banner?'
(btw. Nailed two pluses for a -12)

Favourite current Tour player: Angel Cabrera

Favourite golfer past or present? Why? Jack Nicklaus, mainly for his cartoon-like instruction books.

    Favourite Australian Golfer: Tony Gresham

Whats your favourite club? Why? No favourite. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen. (4 hybrid pisses off the opponents the most.)

What is the strongest and weakest part of your game?
Strongest - Straight driving and long putting. Weakest - Clubhead speed and Adolfs.

Good call on Gresh. Great bloke and could (can) really play.
    Forum needs more banter.

    Well done Dotty.

I look forward to meeting you at one of these Sydney events one day.

And love the "Favourite golfer past or present? Why? Jack Nicklaus, mainly for his cartoon-like instruction books. These are a bit of a running joke amongst myself and some of my mates as one year may moons ago, 4 of us all got the same Jack cartoon book as an end of year topping a subject at school prize. Funny stuff!

I forgot to say, you must of had some good playing partners that day to show you what not to do.

Of the 4 events, I've been in the group with the winner twice.....I must be a good scorer

I thought Sydney only had Queens?
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

    An absolute gentleman.

If you have not played a game with Scott - you are missing out.

also - never play him in match play...

    Well done Dotty.

You would be my number 1 to get to the WA Champs.

Thanks for all the kind words above.

Every game with an OzGolfer (including interstaters) has been a pleasure.

ps. SMS, Gresh can still play as he blitzed the August Eclectic over 4 rounds last year - 12 under off the stick. Not bad for a 71yo.
