    Hi,
New member of the forum and new to golf. Only played a handful of times but find the game very addictive. I took the game up as a father son activity with my 17 year old son. I have enjoyed playing far more than I expected to. He's new to the game too so our skill levels are similar and we can compete with each other on a level field.
We play 9 holes a fortnight and have been improving almost every round. We are thinking about getting memberships and playing more often.
Most of my shots are terrible but the odd one is a beauty and gives me hope.
I don't know if a beginner like me can contribute anything worthwhile here but nobody stopped me at the door so here I am.
As to my user name, every name I thought of was rubbish so I went with it....plus it describes my golf swing.

    Welcome fellow addict.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Wodonga Victoria. Just one course here that I know of and a couple in Albury but I have not played them yet.

    Welcome Rubbish.

So who's winning the father-son battle at the moment?
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

The rubbish from Wodonga can't be any worse than the garbage from Albury.

    Dotty,

You shouldn't say things like that about oz.
    Forum needs more banter.
