3 wood reshafted for kid?
So Kyan's having lessons these days, and the pro mentioned a month or so ago that he could use a wood. Rather than just get the standard young gun clubs around, is it worth the trouble to reshaft something I've got. I've got an old cally warbird 3 wood with dgs300 shaft gathering dust, plus a few different shafts laying around. Got a ProLaunch Blue 65s from a Ping G2 driver, a Proforce gold 75r from a 3 wood, and a TT Custom Lite sensicore steel. Could any of them be cut down to be playable for a kid in that 3 wood (bore through). I know the pro's mentioned to my wife he could use a driver some time, but I'd think a deep faced 15* 3 wood would be better as a driver for him while he's only a beginner.
Or am I off my rocker and should just buy him the kids club? I know he'd think it's pretty cool to be 'using' one of my clubs.

The deep-faced 3 banger is a good idea for a juniors first wood - i know i had one and it did me just fine.
The warbird is a fairly light head so if you pick your lightest shaft and cut to length etc it should be fine. Depends on how big the kid i suppose and how much shaft you would be lopping off.
Was the warbird a bore through - only issue i could see is the tip being stiffened up too much?
Resident clubmakers might have better opinions though

Clubs are too expensive to break these days. Or maybe I'm just getting older

Yeah, I was wondering if the bore through might make it too stiff. I don't know if any of those shafts can be made suitable for a kids club once cut down, or if it's even worth the trouble.
Actually, I may have an NVS Hybrid 85s shaft soon too, which I hate and have always found to feel very 'whippy'.

Agree with Ben that a light head accompanied with a light shaft is the go.
Bore through seems a lot of work to go to though.
Can you get hold of an another 3 wood head?

More to the point, can I be bothered? Just crap I had lying around that you could barely even give away. Thought it could go to some use.
If it's not a good idea, especially if one of those shafts can't be made to work, then I'd just get him one of the kids clubs.
