"SHANKS FOR THE MEMORIES"
After a bit of elbow grease, some sand blasting and then my first attempt at torching I have this
Nice job!
Was that redwood originally black, or the goldy nickel colour?
Some better pics in the light
Now I need to decide whether to restore paintfill or leave clean.
Clean! !
Looks awesome mate!
Here is a couple if refurbs I completed for our Mackay flushers. Newport 2.5 for BITS, and a Fastback 1.5 for Jazzdogs.
Both had dings/scratches sanded out, beadblasting, and a brushed semi gloss sole for the Fastback.
Before shots would be good to put it in perspective. They look good Benno.

They look great. What paint do you use for paintfill?
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
The sandblasting job on those putters is really good. But the paint fill looks a bit........
that's not a beer man's putter
Cut down my Titleist 990 1 iron and 990b 2 iron an inch so that the progression for my irons are all a half inch, (pretty sure all my irons are shorter than standard)
Cut down my graphite Srixon 5 wood half an inch to 42 inches.
Cut down my s300 shafted 975f 3 wood to 42.5 inch (it always just felt heavy in the swing compared to the rest of the set, not necessarily too stiff lol)
Cut down my XXIO driver 2 inches to 43.5 inches, made it feel super light and on the range I started hitting knuckle balls. Added two strips of lead tape to it and hitting straighter without the knuckleballs now lol.
Added a strip of lead tape to my 5 wood just to bring it back to where it was before I cut it down.
Added two strips of lead tape to my teardrop putter. I grew up playing with a 37 inch Ping Anser, so the teardrop always felt too light, and sometimes made me have a jerky motion in my putting stroke (I’m used to just pendulum stroking and letting the weight of the putter do all the work)
Also re-gripped all 15 clubs (except the putter) to Karma Jumbos with around 4 wraps of build up tape.
Not sure if this really counts as customisation (more tinkering but didn’t see a tinkerers thread haha)
Driver distance?? Shorter/longer??
[QUOTE=3puttpete;1409035]2 inches shorter. Pay attention pleaseSorry bout that 😱😱
Bahaha all g. Haven’t had a shorter driver since I had a steel shafted callaway copy as a kid. Hopefully it will keep me from bombing drives into adjacent fairways haha. At the moment it feels just a little lighter than my fairway woods. I think 2 inches was close to -12 SW points according to the info I found on golfwrx (-3SW per half inch).
