I've been considering stamping my 588s...but if I decide not to do that I will give some thought to paintfill over the next few weeks or so.

Plenty of spots on teh backs that could do with a bit of subtle pimping.

One on gumtree, two games old, with a almost new yes mallet putter and putting aid all for $100. Time I scratched myself, played bingo at the local club, bought seven Bulmers to get a free keeyring, then pondered life for a couple of hours...it was gone. FAAARRRKKK,

Just finished other wedge and done them both in red paint fill.

Yeah and that was the first one I did :S it's hard to line them up properly as you cant see the bottom of the stamp..

Nice! I have a stamping kit - just need to find something to stamp also. Any tips?

I heard the new Cobra Drivers come up a treat when stamped. You will need to balance it out with some stamping on the shafts too....

Soooo...
Finally some progress. The gun blue I ordered arrived today. So like an impatient child I applied it to the old rust bucket.
It looked quite good whilst 'wet' after its rinse, so it'll be cool to see how it looks tomorrow after a night of curing.

I haven't decided whether to give the insert a light sand/grind or not yet...

How many coats did you apply Tim?

So not totally happy with it yet. Not as dark as I would have liked.
Will give it another go in a few days. Might leave it on a bit longer next time.

Are you rinsing with boiling hot water between coats. It's supposed to remove the salt buildup and give a darker finish.

No, the tetra blue says cold water, but I'll give the boiling water a try.

Alrighty,
So after attempt two (and the rest of the bottle) I'm much much happier with the result.
It's been oiled once, will leave it overnight and oil again tomorrow.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics but being night it's a bit tough to get good light.
Hopefully it'll still look as good in the morning.

Ignore the insert, I've just put it back in to see how they go together.

I've decided I'll sand/grind the insert lightly and then polish up as well.

Slowly slowly, but I think that'll be the biggest part done.

Will try and get the insert done this week, then screw that back in and move on to silicone and paint!

Re. the insert, I found that a bit of Brasso did a good enough job when I was sprucing up the TeI3 I had a while back.

Yeah, it'll get a good Brasso polish, I just want to make it shiny shiny!
