I know the material difference between a book and little magnet in a viscous liquid inside a polished piece of glass.

are you unable to answer the question in regards to the discussion, or are you being a tool deliberately?

edit: now I remember why I had you on ignore for a period of time.

I do not understand how you can separate the rules of golf from the question. The rules are clear, artificial devices are not permitted.

So you keep telling me, but you keep asking what is the difference.

are you unable to answer the question in regards to the discussion, or are you being a tool deliberately?
The rules of golf do not allow artificial devices to be used.
A compass is an artificial device
Therefore a compass cannot be used.

I think you all are complicating the issue over compasses, phones and yardage books way too much - that is all

    I prefer conspiracy.

The hardware GPS manufacturers lobbied the ruling bodies. The software systems were about 10% the cost of the Garmins and Sureshots initially. Now as the market get larger with lower cost units such as Neos etc. there will be less pressure. I expect to see Smartphone devices made legal in the next year or so.

Ball smashed towards OOB, you see it bounce hard where 99.999% of all balls would end up OOB and this bloke's ball is in bounds, plays it...moves on. He then goes on about it for 4 holes 'Wow, what a bit of luck finding that ball', 'I didn't think I would find it', 'Gee I was lucky', 'I really did find it'...not a word from the rest of us. After 16 holes this bloke pulls his back and needs to drop out of the comp. I happen to see him at Bunnings Saturday afternoon with a bag of cement on his shoulder...mention it must have been a quick recovery. He played yesterday.

you can always tell the cheat as they instantly become your best mate, super chatty, etc...I mate a mate do it a few years ago on a windy. Cursed, then claimed it was a practice swing. I got dark and he became the nicest, chattiest bloke immediately afterwards and it continued for 2 or 3 holes.

Whispers have it that Gungahlin Lakes has had an incident in their mixed foursomes after a male reported their partner for taking liberties. Young lass copped a ban and then the Board swept it and changed the ban to a week.Is that accurate Benno?

Maybe Golf Australia got involved and told the club to reduce the ban like they did in a case a few years ago, telling the club involved there wasn’t enough solid evidence to support any ban.

If Golf Australia are the answer you are asking the wrong questions.

Agree they are totally gutless, they have watered down the rules surrounding the freezing of handicaps so much to make them totally worthless.
