Have never even thought of that happening! And what an easy way to cheat. Naive much.

I remember this happening as the guy came up thru here in a local pro shop.

The story i was told is that the cards were all done and dusted (correctly) and his playing partners had left.

Had to deal with a cheat yesterday.

Carts had to stay on the high side of the rough, so this bloke, on a few occasions, took two clubs over to his ball.

When he selected his club, he laid down the other club about a metre from his ball pointing to where he was aiming. I watched him on the 12th hole where he deliberately straightened the club on the ground, so I immediately crossed the fairway and confronted him. Told him he wasn't allowed to do that. He protested, I told him he had done it already a few times today. He said he hadn't, so I told him about the 6th and the 8th.

I then returned to my ball and hit my 9 iron a little wide but safely on to the green.

He shanked his into the piss.

    We won the match 2up.

    Karma is a beotch.

I don't think he was too happy when I refused him a drop for casual water on the 5th either. Couldn't see any. Sure, it was wet and muddy but no water. Geez, preferred lies were already in play.

The very first comp I played which was only 2 months ago, the guy I was marking and signed for changed his card afterwards to manage 41 points instead of the 37 he actually shot... I pointed it out to one of the pro shop staff and all they mentioned the guy in question was already suspected for it last year.. I dont understand why you would want to cheat.. bring your cap down to a point that you will never play to? especially only to win B grade.. I mean I cant talk being a 28 capper myself but im not going to be too proud to win C grade haha ide much rather play for a good handicap.

Was talking to a few guys the other weekend and they reckon they catch a cheat once a month atleast , either dropping a ball or 'miscounting'' and once you pick them up on it and confront them they just deny deny and decide to try tell their story first once back at the club house to make you sound like the liar...

Its somewhat sadistic, but i very much enjoy getting the blokes with iPhones/Androids. One bloke a few weeks ago now tried saying he wasn't using it to measure distance on the 1st and 2nd, then on the third after i pulled him up on it again (NH) he said it was a local rule (got into him on that one - again NH), and then on the 4th (Par 3) when i caught him on it, i told him i'd get him dq'd if he kept using it.

Didn't see it for the rest of the day.

A bloke I was playing with was wearing sunnies, which he would take off before his swing. He would always put the sunnies down facing his ball so that the frame was always parallel with his target line.

I'm not sure whether there was any malice or intent in what he was doing, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was aiding him.

I didn't say anything. I'm not ballsy enough, nor know the rules well enough to pull him up on it.

    I know. Weak.

Puji..... A little trick for you. One time when he puts them down, pick them up and look at them, like you might want to buy some yourself.

Then see if he hits the ball without them on the ground.

If he replaces them, you've pretty much got him.

The thing is; he takes them off last second. It's basically one of the last things in his routine before pulling the trigger.

So if I went to have a geez at his sunnies - it would be rather odd. Maybe next time I play with him I will just politely say something like

"Some people might mistake you for using your sunnies as an alignment aid [refer to relevant rule], so it's prob beat if you placed them behind you or left them on your bag before hitting your shot"

Apparently, your not allowed to use them in a comp because they can give you elevation and some other stuff.not that I would know how to adjust for said readings, I have enough trouble getting from tee to green, on my best day. I use mine when playing by myself only to gauge club choice v distance, even though it dosnt help much

Ha! That's not even the beginning.

I'm Convinced one guy at my club hires Asian escorts on Froday night, and drives her around the course on Saturday mornings in the cart. The girls have been different every week I've seen him and they never step foot outside the cart. M
